As a thought, Elder should probably something like Quorum Member or something to keep in line with the theme.
Totally in.
If I pull Scientist, do I get secret messages from God?
Haha. When I was trying to figure out my roles for this, I actually thought about having a Cult Leader third party role that converts players to the "one true God" but that would be too much. The Scientist will be working with Baltar, but is not actually Baltar.
Also, good idea for the Elder name. Changing that.

Speaking of which, I would like to suggest the Bomb receive a "Visit" or "Dodge" or another such ability to give it some utility. I talked to Roy about this but it wasn't until after the previous game had started, so it was too late to think about adding anything
A better name might be Saboteur (I mean Suicide Bomber is the obvious choice but you might not like the modern-day associations people make with that).
It might also be interesting to make it so one random Crewmember is really a Cylon that isn't activated until Turn 2 or something, being unaware of their own identity until such time. Something like that'd be an interesting take on a traitor-like role
I think that if someone MIGHT go afk completely halfway through (rai) that they shouldn't play at all.

This.... is redundant?
3. If you plan on being away from the game for more than 3 days at a time during the game, it is better that you do not play and sit the round out.
Also, on this note, I'm going to try to do something I've never done before: No in-thread talk, save for voting. In the future, if anyone says anything about me being mafia due to my silence, I may pay minerals for people to quote this post. After the game is over, my self-imposed semi-silence.
I'll quote this and accuse you of being mafia at the same time, for good measure.
Well, raitaki doesn't seem to be aware of that.
I spelled it out for him, and for devlin.

But how is Devlin = mafia this game? I don't understand.
Also, I'll play if you drop at least 4 of the roles.
None.

Eh, stealing an iPad then lock myself in a bathroom pretending I'm taking a dump and that I don't know where the heck the iPad went should be ez, so I should still be able to make small posts on SEN.

If you can actually be available to play, I can add you.
Also, Vrael, I probably wont be dropping 4 roles.

I agree on giving the Bomb something to do, but that can be tricky. I see the value of adding a Dodge, perhaps, but it seems like the only point to that role is to not Dodge. I'm also weary of giving that person a Visit action as that could then kill whomever they visit if the Bomb is targeted in the same night. I'll definitely think about adding more to it, though, and I'm totally open to more suggestions.
As for the activation thing, that's similar to what I had planned for the Traitor originally (essentially I was thinking along the lines of having a 50% chance of activating each night). As a "Game Master" I think it would be fun to make someone think they are Crew but then switch everything around on them. This would get complicated, though, if the Scientist targets the Traitor (while the Traitor still thinks he or she is a regular Crewmember), and basically knows more than the own player would. It seems unfair to then have the Traitor defend themselves without knowing that the lynchers are telling the truth. To remedy that, I did consider the option of letting the Traitor choose sides (as some Cylons fought alongside humans), but I haven't really thought about that too much yet.

Well, if the Dodge saves them, then it means they were only targeted by one person. It would basically allow them to ensure they kill at least two people or no one at all for a night
And Visit is awesome because it allows them to add to the body count
I'll take some time when I get back later to think about a different ability though.

Actually, your 50% idea sounds pretty fantastic. It would have the effect of leaving no one 100% sure of their actual allegiance regardless of how long the game goes on. If someone is accused of being a Cylon by a claimed Scientist, even if they are innocent, they will consider the possibility that it may be true. The Cylons also then have the option of fakeclaiming Scientist and pretending someone is a Cylon, and even the accused will consider it a possibility, even though they will defend themselves. And if any role can be randomly selected as Traitor, even the Scientist couldn't be sure if another claimed Scientist called him out, and would definitely counterclaim his role so he could check himself on the following night. In that circumstance, no one else would know what was actually going on, I'd imagine a 33/33/33 split between people thinking one or both of them were Cylons
I think that would really capture the element of fear, paranoia, and uncertainty that was present in the series after

I agree with the hidden Cylon mechanic, it's too good to pass up.
and it'd bring us closer to BSG: The Board Game which is the best game of all time
In that case, added the bit regarding the 50% chance.
Any ideas on the possibility of changing sides, or would that be too much?

Just musing..
What if a bomb could target an individual (guy1), the bomb dies that night, explodes, kills the killer, kills guy1, and killed anyone who visited guy1 the night before.
Would be lulzy, dunno if balanced. Maybe remove the "murderer gets killed" or one of the others.
