That would make it harder. I can't type fast if I have to keep thinking up different words to type. It's too much pressure. ;_;

It'd be better if you just put actual, coherent sentences in the test, instead of just random words. Also, have more than just 2-3 lines be shown at once so that we don't have to freeze when it moves on to the next set of words so often.

Here, I made a custom lesson for Tipp10. You will have to import it.

You can either do the full lesson or set a specific time length and even a specific amount of characters. (There are other options too if you want.)

It's a decent software, however it shows only a few words at a time, even worse than the online test that I posted (which is pretty bad), so I am constantly pausing to read the first word of the new line it prompts me.

Agreed. Ideally we should be typing sentences that make sense, that's how they did in the Guinness World Records competition, and without the program renewing the sample text every freaking time.

In the lesson that I have made, everything is on a single line, you should try that one. And it's easy to create your own. You can just find some text from Wikipedia for example, and make it all one line.

Full sentences seem more meaningful than random words. How often is anyones' typing speed paid attention to and said typing is of random words, outside of... typing speed tests?

Keys/minute is superior to words/minute, anyways. Who cares.

You'd run out of short words ... and the words should be somewhat varied. Also typing different length words isn't a good way to determine wpm anyway.

I've also stumbled upon a website that I find better than the one in the original post. The text is scrolling and you can watch your characters per minute in real time which I like a lot

This test is better indeed, although I think it could show more lines and have a smaller font, so that it won't scroll up so abruptly by the end of each line.
