Of course, I don't know why you're dissing either version of Helms Deep, admittedly, I find Aero a bit more impressive, trigger-wise, and entertainment-wise, but Annatar is simply a completely different map, I don't even know why people consider them versions, one is extremely focused on heroes, with computer controlled spawn and totally different terrain, and the other has a much more swarm focus, with humans for everything, I think it's silly to argue which is better, it's like arguing whether an RPG is better than a Defense, they're entertaining in their own aspects.

Damn this is an old thread, but I just saw it and thought I'd say something. I can't say much about hate mail since I've never got any. About Helms Deep v. Aero though I'm suprised to hear it get trashed talked like that compared to Annatar. Last I checked Annatar was thrown together in 30 minutes and the terrain resembles nothing of Helms Deep. The only reason it could even be consider Helms Deep is strictly because of the unit names, some triggers giving movie refrences, and just calling it Helms Deep. Other than that the few times I played it I didn't care much for the play style and I can just be a map critiquer. I usually only care for maps that deserve to be played, such as ones where the creater put alot of time, effort, creativity, etc. into, I believe those are the ones that should be supported. My Helms Deep may not be the exact replica of Helms and I made some modifications over time to the terrain, such as adding in the extra set of stairs behind the Deeping Wall instead of the Glittering Caves which makes it look slightly less like the actual Helms Deep, but I still believe its one of the most accurate looking ones out there. Also, I did take a slightly different approach on this map, I went for a more technical, cleaned up look for this map to make it look nice, fairly roomy (since you can to deal with a computer ally), and 3dish. My only major problem was I reached the limit of locations I could use on the map around v. 4.6, so to make additions to the make I was constantly having to adjust locations, so I could add more stuff. It was just a hassel and prevented me from making several additions that I would have liked to. If I ever finish Helms Deep v. Aero 5, it will definitly bring something a little different to the table, its not nearly as 3d looking as 4.9, but its got more of a unique look to it which is what I like to shoot for. Also, it goes back to the traditional pvp style of Helms Deep rather than 4.9 where you play as a hero. The only problem is i rarely play SC anymore, so the map may never get done. Not to mention there was a storm a while back that fried my router, ethernet cords, and my comps ethernet port and I still haven't got it all fixed. Well thats my little spiel, I could and would say more, but I have shit to do.
