Player colors

So I was bored today, and I started messing with the colors in scmdraft.
I thought it might be useful if I made a reference of all the player colors from 0-255
So far I've gone through 0-70 and although 98% of them after the first 12 make random ugly splotches I've come acrossed a few that actually look pretty decent.
Notable colors so far.
0-11 are the normal 12 colors in scmdraft, and 12 is a mesh of every color possible.
37 is solid black on all the units, and on the mini map
42 displays several shades of blue on all the units, and flashes blue on the mini map

If anyone is interested I could make a complete reference to 255.

Farty already made a player colour program that shows you the different player colours for each #, which change based on the tileset terrain as well.

The colours are quite different in Vista/W7/Mac though, and some of them cause unit crashes when clicking on units (most notably the Flag powerup). So extended player colours aren't very useful any more.

Also, a textual description of the colour really isn't much use. You would have been much better off taking screenshots of standard reference units (Marine and Mutalisk I think, as they both express the colour quite fully).

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

The flag is actually one of the few exceptions, whereas most units won't crash upon clicking regardless of player number. I believe this phenomenon is caused by the unit portrait: the flag portrait shows the color of the player that owns it, meaning it has several portraits (one for each player color). When it is owned by an extended player, it tries to grab a portrait that doesn't exist, which causes the crash. You may also find it interesting that on the occasion that it doesn't crash for an extended player, the unit portrait will be something unrelated to the flag (I've seen SCVs and Spider Mines, for example).

Other than that, I agree with everything you said in full.

I also noticed that most of the colors used are variations of black, brown, and flashing blue. Are the colors being used getting taken from tileset palletes?
Can anyone direct me to that player color program?
