Also, it's really weird having a theist doing the modding in a god topic for once. I've seen my fair share of them in the many years I've been here, and it's always been the theists that had to watch what they said, and now it's the other way around. Just feels really weird.

Yes, because it is impossible to hold an atheistic view and accept evolution but argue a theistic view and reject evolution.

Considering his complete disregard for factual accuracy and inability to step into even the most utterly basic levels of research, while still trying to discuss high level concepts, who really cares what he thinks?

Internet anonymity allows such to happen. Because IRL you actually have to use your brain in discussions, otherwise you'll be deemed stupid by society. This "freedom" deludes middle/high schoolers into thinking they are all that and are the smartest people in the world without realizing who it is they might be talking to. And yes, dumbducky, that picture is a perfect example of what happens in SD discussions

Curiously, I tried to correct some high school students the other day about marijuana. Their argument was, "You're stupid man. Man we fucking owned you, man." After repeating multiple times that ad hominem is not a valid argument, they persisted in claiming I was "owned" and their "bitch". Realizing conventional methods weren't working, I proceeded to tell them that they were both going to win Darwin awards for their intellect and I rest my case. They then ranted on for the next five minutes about how they beat me in the debate and praised themselves for being smart enough to win a Darwin award.

In an argument of words: if one refuses defeat, then they can't be defeated, and that's how you have a troll. In order to not lose the argument, you either have to play the same way, or not play at all.

@Sac, that's pretty good.

What about when you're right and play Devil's Advocate just to make note of the opposing opinion? I've done that a few times here. Maybe I just like to look at both sides of the argument.
