Lag cleared up and the game played out nicely. EzDay and I went back and forth with various unit types, from counter-snipering, setting each other on fire, baiting into minefields, etc.

I was rummaging through my STF files and discovered a few new, unreleased versions. Apparently, way back when, I even promised as much. :blush:

Well, enough foreplay, enjoy!

Change Log
  1. Idle worker selection fixed.*
  2. Barricade removed.
  3. Influence ticker now always displayed.
  4. Influence rises by 10, from 20.
  5. Mineral Fields no longer invisible.
  6. Territory Claim now gives 10 supply, from 5.
  7. Territory Claim requires more room to build.
  8. Lancer's rocket slowed to half of previous acceleration.
  9. Lancer's rocket damage lowered to 18, from 20.
  10. Gunner's minigun damage raised to 6/8/10/12, from 5/6/8/12.
  11. Asher's flamethrower damage raised to 8, from 6. Splash raised to 10/10/10, from 5/5/5.
  12. Harrier's Sidewinder Missiles no longer deal splash damage.
  13. Ranger now has EMP Grenades (Feedback) instead of Concussion Grenades (Maelstrom).
  14. Gunner now has Suppression Fire (Ensnare) instead of Suppressive Fire (Disruption Web). Note: Ensnare is currently inversed, increasing movement speed. Best used on your own troops. This was only a test of an idea, so it will not remain with the Gunner in future versions.
  15. Prices reduced:
    • Hub $600, from $750
    • Facilities $300, from $500
    • Sweatshop $100, from $200
    • Oil Pump $200, from $300
    • Territory Claim $100, from $200
    • Guard $75, from $100
    • Harrier $300, from $500

* Idle Worker Selection fix: Works perfectly in singleplayer mode. However, selection data is apparently shared in a multiplayer game, so if you order an Engineer to move who was selected using IWS, you will desync from the game. At this point in development, we were working to isolate the multiplayer call, which is why this version of the mod was never released.

Awesome! The only regret I have from when I started working and stopped doing sc related stuff is that I never finished fixing the idle worker selection bug :( I hope that at some point I can dust my old laptop off and look into it again... Anyway, hopefully I'll catch you on AIM more often, been a long time. Talk to you later!

So you'll be online talking to me from 13 hours in the future! :P well, when I get my laptop fixed (using my iPad for "everything" right now) I'll try and come on more around when you should be on, but the time difference definitely cuts back on the possible overlap times :(

Also, how you doing in light of the earthquake/aftershocks?

9.0 Magnitude - I wrote a bit about what happened during the main Earthquake here. Ever since, we've been having earthquakes virtually every day. My wife recently installed an earthquake alarm app on her smartphone, which we discovered at 2am that it blares like a freakin' smoke alarm. The damn thing keeps going off, and the sound is far more jarring than the rumble of these earthquakes.

Using BroodwarAI.com's BWAI Launcher, you can play STF against any Zerg AI. The launcher has a variety of AI to choose from, from non-cheating to insane challenge levels. To try this, follow these steps:
  1. Download BWAILauncher and extract it to wherever you'd like to use the program from.

  2. Place a copy of the STF.exe and its STFSettings.txt in the BWAILauncher folder. This copy can be in its own directory or in BWAILauncher's root, it doesn't matter. The reason for this step is because BWAILauncher modifies STF by injecting your chosen AI script into it. This won't be a problem until you try playing STF online with other people who haven't injected the same AI script.

  3. Run BWAILauncher

  4. Go to ==> File ==> Options ==> Check Use custom targets

  5. Under Target MPQ:, click the Browse button.

  6. Navigate to find STF_1151_0066.exe. You must use the dropdown Files of type: and select All Files (*.*) in order for the EXE to show up.

  7. Click Open to confirm your choice, then Ok in the Settings window. You are now ready to pick out your AI opponent.

  8. The first dropdown option, AI Package has several categories to choose from. For our first runthrough, go with 01) Entropy (Non-Cheating)

  9. Uncheck all other AI options. Under Zerg, check Myks Z v3.8.

  10. When ready to begin, click Play!

  11. Enjoy! If that wasn't challenging enough for you, there are plenty more to choose from. Scripts in Racine Rebels would be appropriate for advanced players, while Mesk's Zapoc Zerg will inspire you to curl up into a ball and weep.
