Are we allowed to make multiple spells in
1 map?
Are we allowed to use triggers to edit camera angles to make it look more epic? Or 1 solid, regular gameplay camera?
Considering we are making spells, it would probably only take a day or two. Why do we have a full month to do this? (Probably so people who don't see this get a chance to later on)
None.

Yes.

Yes, though that wont have an effect on overall judging. The focus should be the spell or ability itself.

You can use that full month to make multiple awesome spells and earn more minerals by doing so. And also you are right in that if someone doesn't see it now or care to participate now, they have a month to contribute. On top of that, not everyone is a seasoned pro with the editor, and perhaps some people might want to create a cool idea they had but don't know how to yet. A month gives them the time needed to do that.

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death
In! What's the theme?
...
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-
(though brownie points go to those who use the Data Editor).
No fair for the trigger gurus. I'll take a peek at the Data Editor, but I'll almost guarantee a 100% trigger-generated spell on top of a dummy ability.
Doing abilities via triggers is sooooooooooo much easier, and it seems like it requires much less planning, so that's why I'd reward more for Data Editor spells.

Let me show you how to hump without making love.
So since SC2Mapster stole Map Night from us, both in name and times, we're taking one of their contest's themes? I think they came out on top.

That's like rewarding someone making a website in notepad more than someone using Dreamweaver. The end result is really the only thing most people care about.

This is a very general theme suggested by Ahli months ago, and it relates to the next contest. This has nothing to do with SC2Mapster. IIt's actually really unfortunate that they don't like us and apparently we don't like them. That feud has nothing to do with me, though, as I actually get along with Sixen. Regardless, the point is to make some cool stuff with the editor.

If I held a contest for coding a website, I would reward someone making a website in notepad more than someone using Dreamweaver. I see this as being no different. A big part of these contests is how the maps are made, and not just the end result. In this particular case, we're looking at individual abilities/spells and so how simple or complex they are will be a factor.
Either way, like I said above the contest is to make awesome spells (with triggers or the data editor). It will tie in with the next contest, and it is supposed to be fun and not tedious.

Data Editor-created spells are known to be more responsive.
None.
Hooray for being the first to submit something that isn't creative at all!
And because it's that bad, I will probably make another spell to submit to get a better score than this one.
EDIT: Fixed map below!

Man I wish I could submit my old mods spell. It was lovely. It was alot like vortex, but it ended with a very large boom killing everything near the center. Twas beautiful and such a scary sight.

starcraft 1, i just bought starcraft 2 finally last week. I finally got a computer that is good enough to play it.

Count me in... man it's been ages since I've touched the data editor...

aalleecc248: Your spell won't cast on the Marines. ;b
None.
Must have been when I was testing the other spell, then removed it after raging
And as it may look like, it's not really like an edited Blizzard spell. It is kinda a combination of Infested Marine Egg (Thing) and Fungal Growth, but it targets a single unit, takes time, and has a CHANCE to convert. Made completely from scratch though.

Really there's a feud between scmapster and us 0_o i've been there and those guys like sens' community as were both pretty helpful.
Since we and sc2 mapster are most popular for the highly technical stuff done in sc2 its arguable...
finally what do you define as a feud my 2 cents...
I have some cool ideas but the data editor/ trigger editor is tough is shit for me to use, i guess i have to play around with it until i get used to it.

What? There are so many things wrong in that statement, on so many levels, I don't even know where I'd start.

I'm serious!
Sometimes it just seems like Tempz responds to everything he can in posting sprees, half the time not reading the rest of the topic, and 99% of the time in illegible English.
