I've been using this recently in the midgame because it really just completely stomps everything. What should I be watching out for against someone on equal economic footing?

People who know how to micro Terran infantry and won't try to engage your force on creep. Also, drops.

Factory Reactor into a quick 4 to 8 hellions / blue-flame upgrade optional transitioning into banshee's. Although I've only really seen this done in diamond high-level replays, so not sure if it's viable/effective at your level of play (which I also don't know).

But yeah, I havn't played Zerg in ages and last time I did, I went similar Speedlings, expo, Banelings vs Terran and his hellion micro left me pretty devastated, forced me into roaches to at least hold my ramp/deter his harass. Then he pushed with a timing attack of marines/marauders/medivacs and I didn't have enough banelings to handle it.

Sorry, not sure why I didn't mention this, but a large siege tank army will absolutely decimate groups of Zerglings and Banelings.

To counter that you go Mutalisks, to which he goes Thors, to which you go Roaches, to which he goes M&M, to which you go Banelings, etc.

Most people use air + ground tactics for midgame as Zerg. Namely muta + etcetc. Against majority mm, they usually go muta bane/ling. Against majority mech, they go muta + hydra. Not sure if you want to use roaches against Ts other than early game.

Not sure if you're it, but people who play zerg throw away units for nothing. It seems they don't know that even zerg units cost something. Harassing and throwing away are quite different, I think. Atleast when I've harassed with muta, 1 or 2 is all I lose, or none at all.

Also, Zerg needs a third when T has an expo. Otherwise you'll just get stomped.

That's a joke, right? The only things hydras are good against are flying units and marauders. You're better off throwing speedlings and roaches against any non-siege army, roaches are better against T.

I'm not joking.

Using hydras are a better chance against T. Using roaches as tank is another, but using roaches as main is ridiculous. T mech will 'rip up' roaches so bad, you'll never win a single game against any player. You need the DPS against mechs with hydras. Plus you don't realize how hurtful the bonus damage is against armored.

You will however need to draw the T out in to the open, where you will probably face off with mixed variants. And it's helpful if you upgrade hydras. It makes hellofadifferenceyoudonotrealize.

Thanks for the post, but you really didn't answer my question at all. Hell, I don't see anything relating to my question whatsoever.

Well. It's kind of hard to answer. It's standard if your opponent goes majority marines. Some Ts do, in fact. Thing is, SC ain't so black and white, and you never know when you need to change your strategy. You could use this strategy up to about 8 minutes. After that, you either need to tech or do something about your opponent before that.

You should probably be watching out for everything your opponent does.

My two supply.
