None of you guys have even been to China. Well I have, and let me tell you you're all wrong. Everyone on the internet in china gets around all the firewalls and stuff, the walls aren't plastered with propaganda, and people don't walk around spouting communism, its a very capitalist place. I don't think a single student I met actually bought any of the software on their computers, they all pirate it for free since there's no way microsoft can get to them in china. The firewall doesn't do diddly squat, for example, facebook is supposed to be blocked, but measley old me still got on it past china's firewall.

The Anonymous group, who are comprised of about 85% 4chan members are fighting for anonymity. Read this. And since Kopimi (Pirate Bay) argue for anti-copyright, and 4chan argue for anonymity, they are allied through mutual interests.



The irony here is that, many SEN members will simply claim that China's schools are brainwashing facilities, and that their firewall is amazing and that China is the leading example on internet regulation... And the irony hits the fan when the sad fact is, the person (previous page, can't remember who), was fed more propaganda than an average Chinese person, about how bad China is.

From what I've seen of China (family visits), it's a fair enough place. It's easy to tell the poor districts from the developed ones, and honestly, there doesn't seem to be much difference (superficially, anyway). It's not like there are police officers breathing down your neck all the time. When people get into minor car accidents (side mirror cracked?), it can be resolved locally instead of through suing. It's a pretty friendly place overall and easy to talk personally with people. AFAIK, people don't really complain or anything, and everyone is more or less content.

That person would be me. I'm not oh so simply claiming that China's schools are brainwashing facilities, it is because they are. I have been to china, my friends and relatives grew up in China; I know for a fact how crazy that place can be (but don't get me wrong, I also love China and find much more good than bad).

One more thing about the internet blockage, it isn't s 24/7 thing as most of you are assuming; it only occurs on special occasions (which is why most of you if you ever go to China will most always find internet access with ease). It's the fact that such an ability even exists is the controversy.

Well I guess I have 0 first hand experience with their K-12 system. Maybe they are brainwashing facilities. I was in Beijing at peking university, so I suppose that can't speak for the whole country since its the chinese equivelent of harvard, but I saw my fair share of the city, and I was there long enough to get ripped off a few times and see some nasty shit (and take some nasty shits lol). I'd imagine there's a huge gulf in the culture between rural china and a big city like beijing. Nevertheless, I know a lot of people think a lot of things about the way china is that are wrong, I just wanted to clarify some based on what I saw and experienced while there.

Relevant: I've been to commercialized areas of Shangai were there were beggars in the street and people with food stalls (the tacky kind) just a mere block or two away from large flashing neon signs and shit. A particularly memorable moment was when an old, destitute grandmother-lady with few teeth tried asking me for money. It was quite horrible to see such a person in such a state (was she missing an eye? She was REALLY not healthy-looking).

To contrast, there were street vendors selling toys just a few steps away (people with bags of toys, trying to sell them, like at a carnival or something).

It's easy to tell that things are still unstable in China, which is why the CCP doesn't actually get much flak from inside, even from the people that are pretty well off.

I have a few cousins who live in China. Honestly, if they were brainwashed, they don't show it lol. AFAIK, no one actually cares too much about politics. And, relating from my relatives (who are the well-off people), they consider themselves pretty fortunate.

Oh, and, Vrael, I hope you enjoyed the food back there. After the first few nasty shits, you can focus more on the food before it passes through your system (lol!). Might take a few weeks, but, man, is it ever worth it. Fuck, man, if you want a feast and a party, lol, Amerika and Canadeh don't compare to a good restaurant in China, 'specially round holidays.
