Do want! Do want! Do want! :awesome:
The main story sounds a bit meh (as usual), but who cares as long as the rest of the game probably is awesome?

I'm going to make a character and name him jacob. I'll contract lycanthropy.

<3

No but seriously, they had better bring back all the weapon types they removed from morrowind and the spells. I want my spears, throwing weapons, crossbows, Short blade, blade, and long blade, levitation, Slash/Thrust/Chop attack types (+more), enchanting arrows, enchanting clothes, being able to wear clothes under armor, etc.

Too many things that they took out in the transition from Morrowind to oblivion. Fucking rage.

Also: Dem next generation loli mods.

I personally would prefer clothes over top of armor...

We all know mad zombie is just going to create a loli-hero and give her no clothes. Make her use a stupidly large sword and run around doing spellz n shit.

Oblivion was fun. But this guy sums it up pretty well

Oh please do not make this commercialize casual bullshit (like your last 3 games).

Agreed - I wish they would go for a story with more depth, or at least delve deeply into the cultures of the region, the way Morrowind had you going everywhere from the remote tribes to the great houses. Morrowind had such a massive political and social depth to it, which I attribute almost entirely to their intricate text speech instead of feeding line by line of bad dialogue. I actually want the text speech back.

Blade definitely needs to be broken back up. Oblivion I'd have 3 or 4 different swords for different encounters of various lengths so I could deal with anything that came my way and abuse different attack speeds of enemies. I'd also like to see a more intense melee system (more along the lines of Mount and Blade I think would be nice).

>be faceless void >mfw I have no face

Morrowind was a beast, if this is like that but with better graphics and new storyline, it'd be a beast x2.

Red classic.

"In short, their absurdities are so extreme that it is painful even to quote them."

Daggers, shorts swords, clubs, hammers, axes, claymores, fists, and bows are now under "Sharp weapons category"

Staffs, spells, pants, rings are now "Magic".

The entire game will be a hallway. Their will only be 5 voice actors. Every city will be Bruma. Every NPC shares the same stats as you.

Calling it now.

Responsible for my own happiness? I can't even be responsible for my own breakfast

As disappointed as I am that we're not going to Elsewyr, I am looking forward to this tremendously.

Please this time give us throwing weapons and crossbows... New Vegas had throwing weapons, there's no excuse, since we know you're going to use the same engine

And for the love of the gods, make thievery worthwhile again. In Morrowind it was actually viable to be a thief, while in Oblivion for some reason they put all the shopkeeper inventories in invisible locked chests underneath the playable area. Apart from the Thieves Guild quests there was nothing to do.

I would definitely like to see something as complex and deep as Morrowind, but somehow I think any expectations there will fall short. We have to appeal to the console kiddies after all. At the very least though, please give us a storyline that's deeper than "demons invade, save world." Morrowind had such a great storyline in that you could really debate who was in the right and what various people's motivations were.

And as a final point, I'm not really up on my TES lore anymore, so I don't know what kind of creatures inhabit Skyrim, but I really hope there's more variety than Oblivion had. Morrowind was interesting because the creatures weren't your standard fantasy fare. If I have to kill goblins and wolves, I'm gonna be annoyed.

If Skyrim is anything like Solstheim, you won't be happy.

Maybe we should just make a list of things we'd like to see in Skyrim?

-Archers...
/Shooting more than one arrow at a time
/Shooting flaming arrows that aren't enchanted
/Shooting while mounting things
/Getting more experience depending on the distance of the object and the location of the hit (head arm) instead of per every arrow landing wherever.
/Stabbing someone with an arrow
/using bows as melee weapons
-Crafting besides Alchemy (Mining, Herbalism, Fishing, Butchering, Farming)
-Children
-Dating sim
-'Free mode' where everything is randomly generated and the story mode is disabled.
-Online play ;_;
-More dynamic spells instead of just simply shooting a misse or touching something
-Kidnapping
-Dismemberment
-Lusty Argonians
-AI that actually allows you to fight with it instead of jumping in front of your swing/arrow/magic missle
-Laying traps
-An option to turn on needing to eat and sleep
-Turning animations
-Opening a business
-Prostitution
-Dual wielding of smallish swords
-Being able to throw a non throwing weapon (a last resort kind of thing)
-Fists being broken up into different fighting styles and including using your legs and grappling
-Same material weapons doing different damage depending on craftsmanship
-Climbing (trees)
-Destructible buildings and terrain
-And of course returning previous features that were removed like throwing weapons and spears.

I wish ._.

It's in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, so I believe this will be added in Skyrim.

Now we have 11 months to wait for until we embrace the epic.

Dungeon Master

The one thing that always irked me about oblivion is the sheer un-epicness of battling. The GREAT DEFENSE AGAINST THE SUPERGATE OF OBLIVION was like 6 guys poking 1 demon at a time as they came out. Fucking lame. There should've been upwards of a hundred soldiers battling epicly against hordes and hordes of demons flooding from each gate. I mean, I go through a given oblivion gate and what? Where are the gate guards? Why are there only 6 demons in the goddamn entire tower? I should be plowing my way through hordes, not kiting one stupid fireball throwing enemy.

So yeah, I hope they do something about that >>

Possible, since they were in Fallout 3/NV... no way in hell they'll be killable though.

When hell freezes over, maybe.

-Dismemberment
I think anything FO3 had is likely to be in TES V.

Quote

Possible... NV had "Hardcore" mode which was similar.

Quote
-Opening a business
Only if I get to have a loli shopkeeper. Capitalism, ho!

This reminds me that the towns in Oblivion are ghost towns that inhabits a few set of people. This is when I am comparing population density to games like Grand Theft Auto series, Assassin's Creed series, Fable games, Dead Rising games, and etc.

But judging from the engine and the game's release on 2006, the engine may not be as in depth. However, the game Fallout 3 gave my Xbox 360 console a red ring of death, so therefore their engine is pretty much hardware demanding. I much prefer to play Skyrim on my PC if this is the case again.

Morrowind had a mod in which added hundreds of people to the entire world map so doesn't that mean that it's not the engine right? Actually I'm not even sure right. Oblivion is a 'heavily modified' version of Morrowind. Gamebryo 1.5 or something and I still have no confirmation but only conflicting reports of the Skyrim engine being a heavily modified Gamebryo engine of Oblivion's (Or NV?) engine or something they built from the ground up. Although I'm pretty sure they confirmed they are not using the Id tech 5 engine.

So whats going on?
