You ever play 3v3 and get ling rushed by 3 opposing players?
You ever play 3v3 or 4v4 and suddenly see a probe building pylons and cannons in your base?

I have a very noob question, but it might be helpful in the long run:
How do you stop these cheesy strategies? (if you can call 'em that)

I'm open to all suggestions, and please specify race, any race will do, but I want to hear most from Protoss.

Relatively ancient and inactive

I've never been rushed early so that I couldn't block it with my standard two-gate zealot-spam build. If more than one person, then I expect allies to send help, too. If someone's building a pylon in your base... catch him, send a few workers to stop him and continue making an army. I've never had a successful cannoning against me, you just have to catch it.

I understand that, I've caught it in 3v3 with a pylon at the only entrance to my base, but in 4v4 its difficult to catch, most 7pool rushes however make it so you have 2 zealots, against 18 zerglings from all 3 players.

I also have another noob question, how do you give shared unit control? and can you give shared building control?

and how do you rush with Protoss?
not rushing early game in 2v2 sometimes screams "COME VOID RAY MY BUTT!"

First of all, you have to understand that 3v3/4v4 is not balanced, since blizzard balances around 1v1. The only real counter is to scout early. If you are facing an all zerg team in 3v3/4v4, expect them all to rush you. A cannon and some zealots will do wonders to protect you against zerglings, just make sure to position the cannon so it cannot be easily surrounded. You WILL need your allies help however, and if they are not onboard to defend the rush, you are simply out of luck.

Shared unit control can be activated by clicking one of the two little buttons in the upper right. One of those buttons is the share resource tab (where you can send minerals/gas to teammates) and the other is the alliance tab, which lets you share control.

One of the most standard ways to rush with protoss without gimping your economy is building your pylon at 10 supply, and then building your gateway as soon as it finishes (also at 10 supply). You can then proceed to chronoboost zealots.

This.

They key to rushing is to get a good balance between producing workers and producing combat units for the rush. If you gimp yourself on workers, your economy is going to kill you in the long run if the rush doesn't work. You're still gonna be behind, but if you can get that balance you won't be as far behind.

If you're terran, and you catch a protoss building a pylon... Just hurry a bunker beside it, and then start pumping marines into it. He'll have to watch as his rush fails and your marauders are destroying his Nexus.

Oh! Pardon the double post. If you get cheese rushed by 3-4 people, don't panic! just get your allies to send in ALL of their units (gatherers and troops) and you'll automatically outnumber your enemy. Lolz. A friend of mine did this when they got quadruple pooled. the might of over 40 gatherers, 2 zealots, 2 marines, and 4 zerglings triumphed over the cheese!

2 Gate, effective bunker placement and effective spine crawler placement all beat cheeses. Scouting is useful too. :P

If the opponent knows how to micro and focus on workers and macroes his base while he's at it, though, they are going to win since their economy will be way beyond yours due to the time spent away from gathering. They will simply renew and regroup and continue to build their economy, whereas your economy will barely grow at all under the constant pressure.

Sometimes sending all-in works, especially in maps where four players are next to each other. Most of the time it doesn't, however, and it's probably better to just sacrifice that one player and try to tech into something that counters their rush-units. Such as mutas.
