At the start of the game send all drones to the minerals, don't spend any money. Once you get 200 minerals immediately make a spawning pool close by (Close by the hive, timing is very important). Once that starts building, make a another worker. Once the spawning pool gets done, use 3 larva that should have spawned by now(Along with around 150 minerals you should have), and make zerglings. if you know where your opponents at, IMMEDIATELY send your zerglings straight to there workers spot/minerals, do NOT attack move, you want to make a quick attack.

Once you get in there base, depending on map you should be able to bypass there wall if they started one. Go straight to there workers. If there new players or not very wise, they will be easy targets. A smart player would send them all to attack, which if there good, could kill your rush but still slow them down. If they didn't attack with workers, and you kill them, if they are protoss, hunt and kill all there pylons (Pylons are more important than attacking there gateways, since pylons power all buildings except a nexus) Right after kill there nexus. If there zerg, once you beat on workers, kill there spawning pool immediately if they have one, infact you might want to hit that first before workers. If you are facing terran, simply hit there command center.

While doing this you dont want to be absent on your base, you should be making another overlord, and working on another force of zerglings (Least 9), and send them in at your opponent. You should then work on a Queen, and getting roaches.

At the start if your rush fails, immediately start working on getting roaches & a queen. Depending on what faction you may want to get hydras too. (Turtled Toss 60% of the time always go voids) and get spine crawlers ASAP *3 around your hive*.

Hope this helps, this is what I do, and it works a alot. Definitely if your ally does it too.

Relatively ancient and inactive

Sounds like if your rush fails, you'll have put yourself several minutes behind everyone else.

not really, only if you completely ignore your base at the time. If you ignore your base then yea.

But even if you got zerglings in, and distracted them, while also focusing on your base too, youll be ahead. Plus youll know what they will have.

If they blocked you out before you can get zerglings in your base, they get the advantage, because they will know what your doing and at what point/ what you have. Thats why you get roaches as soon as possible, whether the rush fails or not.

That's normal for a rush strategy.

Anyway, this just looks like a standard 4-pool, except it's SC2, so, what, 6-pool?

Red classic.

Lol, 4-pool isn't dead.
Send 2 Drones to harass.

It sounds like he's saying to make six zerglings, and then make an ovvie and nine more zerglings. That sounds like you'll still have four workers. And now you're expected to make a queen and go to roaches and hydras.

Lol, of course you get workers. Ill make a more accurate step.

1. Send all workers to minerals
2. Use 1 drone to make a pool
3. Make another worker for minerals
4. Make 3 (6) zerglings, send them to opponents resources, NOT on auto attack.
5. Make a overlord
6. Make a couple more drones for minerals
7. Make another set of zerglings (If your rush didn't fail)
8. Make another overlord, then a worker to make a roach warden, make another 2 drones
9. Work on getting gas too

And you just progress from there. I may have missed something but I think im close.

Ehehehehehe.

I never liked 6pooling. When I do rushes, I do 7pool or 8pool, neither of which sets you back as far economically. Also, I rarely rush - just 7pooled a few times back in Silver because I wanted out fast. Managed to kill quite a few noobs that way - even one guy who forfeited as soon as my six lings walked in his front door. I was like :wtfage: dude, you could've killed them all with SCVs... but :wtfawesome: I'll take the win, thanx.

I won two games like this. ;o I had 3 singles wins and I wanted the 5 quick match win achievement, so I used this rush twice and won. Epic cheese. ^^

Pulling all harvesters off your worker line is not the way to go. Leave at 3-4 workers on minerals, and get a surround on the zerglings.

Also, any opponent who scouts should be able to see your 6-pool fairly easily and opt for a wall in. 6-pool also sets your economy far back, and the (easy to survive) rush gets obliterated by a counter-attack of:

Speedling Roach
Speedling Mutalisk
Mass Zealots
Blink Stalkers
M&M
Ghosts. :P
