I will finish my map (non triggering) in 128 by 128 then make some artwork in a 256 by 256 map then finish it

Just so you guys know, I'll be managing minerals since IP has neglected to do so thusfar. All minerals have been given out for contests 3 and 4. For this contest (and all future ones) we'll also add on Contest Points as well. We're still working on how many each place gets, but it'll be an added bonus for getting first, second, or third.

What are contest points for and what exactly do they do?

Static values to show off. Reputation in a way. Nothing special so far.

O, yeah, I'm in. I'm making a short 10 mission RPG map.

We're calling them our "Achievement Points" since basically they do nothing but show off that you're won contests. Ideally, in the future we will make them visible under your avatar or something, as well as list the top members on the Portal page.

Consider it like a built in version of how the standings are done for these contests.

If there are Achievement Points, why not just call them that, and also give them out for things like finishing a map which isn't necessarily associated with a contest?

I believe themes exist for the purpose of trying to limit people submitting maps created or worked on before the contest was initiated. "Empire" seems a bit too open, but meh.

I meant they are our version of the Achievement Points that you get in SC2 or WoW or Diablo 3. In essence they serve no purpose other than to show off how many you have. In our case, they only apply to contests so they're our "Contest Points."

If you finish an awesome map not associated with the contests (and unfortunately not including SC1 maps), we will give you minerals instead. That's the incentive for people to make some kick-ass SC2 maps.

It's too bad that I've accidentally deleted the PM..
What the sponsorship was going to be, as i've stated before, was 40 minerals for 1st place, 20 minerals for 2nd, and 10 minerals for third. Also, 10 minerals per judge (who actually judged) for their committment and their work.

do i have to submit to the thread or when i upload the map i say its for the contest?

As long as the entry gets to the judges its fine

Also, forgot to mention this, feel free to submit Rough Drafts or Unfinished Projects for us to look at.. We can give you pointers and hints on how we feel about your current map. Remember that our ultimate goal is to make good UMS maps

Dropping out of the contest my map was too big and stopped making it on the 26th

Ugh...I was actually on track for finishing this one on time, but some work came up and it's rather urgent, so I've got to back out (again).

You can always submit the unfinished product now, or submit a finished product later..

we'd probably deduct points for either choice, but at least you've submitted and completed something. That's more important

Oh and did I mention that TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY FOR THIS CONTEST, SO PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR MAPS!!!
