So lately I've been thinking, the Sheetz gas station is probably the closest thing to fast food that I enjoy eating... But is it just a gas station or is it a gas station that serves food (Ew... gas station food is usually nasty... but SHEETZ IS GOOD!) or even a low-grade restaurant that also pumps gas. I'm really confused. What are your opinions?
Some of my favorite things to get are fajitas (I believe they only serve these in the super-duper size sheetz), a chicken sandwich with pepper rings, buffalo sauce, ranch, (maybe) bacon, pepperjack cheese, and maybe something else (<-- Think buffalo wings), and I recently started buying their pizza. They also have some great wraps.
What are your opinions on sheet's status as a glorified gas station/ a restaurant.

I live in West Virginia. I'm serious, the food is actually pretty good. I mean it. The food there is better quality than any fast food restaurant... Nobody here has Sheetz in their area?
They have lots of pre-made things that you can grab off of a shelf... Parfaits and sandwiches and the like, or an MTO (Made-To-Order) touchscreen station where you can customize your own order. They have hot dogs, chicken strips, wraps, fajitas, pizza, fries, salads, chicken sandwiches, burgers, and probably tons of other things that I am missing.
The wraps actually are really healthy. Never had a salad from there, but I assume they are healthy too since they are under the same section...

I like the idea of combining establishments.
They already have mcdonalds inside walmarts so why not?

There's a French franchise gas station called Total near campus that serves some very nice sandwiches, homemade fries and fried chicken that's very good, better than what you'd get at Subway, KFC or anything around the area. There's also a Gulf gas station nearby that has a bakery inside and they sell doughnuts, cakes, pastries and all sorts of products associated with a bakery. I think it has to do more with options the owner(s) put to their specific gas station than the franchise itself has, since these two are the only ones I've seen with this, most gas stations have a mini-market and that's about it.

We've got them in Raleigh, but I've never ordered food from them. Usually gas is cheaper than most places, but I honestly don't go there that often because they aren't close to where I live.

I once ate a sandwich at an Arby's at a gas station in Pennsylvania (I think). We were on a trip to Canada and hungry. Not bad. I also once grabbed a chicken-burger from a McDonalds near a gas station because I wasn't going to get a different lunch. That just about sums up my experience with eating at gas stations.
