Price Range: $650-850. +OS Cost.
OS: XP

I need a good video card, obviously.
I have my reasons not to buy the parts and build it together. Just link me a nice all-in-one PC.

When you say all-in-one, you mean a computer that is built into the screen, right?

The sword and the faith

I think she means a PC already built because she doesn't feel like building it.

I cannot support such a decision.

Relatively ancient and inactive

It should be able to play any game very, very well.

Go to newegg. Go to PC & Laptops. Click "All-in-one." That phase has a distinct type of computer where it's just a screen (like the mac book or whatever the hell it is).

Anyways, as far as pre-built computers go, I would agree with the ibuypower gaming computers (I would pick an intel processor though :)). They should be fine. I would also recommend just building one yourself though.

I would normally prefer Intel too (because apparently everyone should), but that still seems like a very solid processor, and that was the cheapest desktop that came with a 5770. I don't think Ciara will be disappointed. :P

I'll tell you what, I was an intel guy until a few months ago, and shopping around for a system <$1000 you pretty much should go AMD because they own the market of budget chips. Intel still has the best high end cheaps without a doubt though.
Second, while building I wouldn't pay an extra $30 for the 965, but here in a pre built it's worth it.
+1 to the above computer.

Go to a computer shop and ask them how much it will be to build everything/what they recommend.

In any case, you'll get what you pay for. The processor won't matter. The graphics card should be better than or equal to a 4850, 5750, GTS 250/9800 GTX.

Why can't you build it?

Get a 5770 or better, no reason to get a 4850. If you are going to, just get a 4870...which is equivalent to a 5770, but the 5770 adds dx11.

4850 is cheaper than a 4870. There's a very good reason. Also, remember that 2 4850s beat a 5850.

will do fine and leaves you $200 for your monitor.

Ex, cut it out. There are perfectly good reasons to buy a pre-made as opposed to building it yourself - lack of knowledge, not wanting to deal with the hassle of defective parts, etc. Saving $100 may not be worth all that. There are perfectly capable builds in her price range.

Being lazy isn't a good reason. You don't actually save money either, especially if you try to rebuild the system:

The reason to build your own is to a) become smarter, b) get quality components, c) save money using old components. If you don't like to learn about computers, don't care about your computer as long as it works, and don't care about wasting old stuff, then there's no reason to build your own. Ex just dislikes people like this, and for a good reason. They tend to be the people who make those inane questions on Yahoo! answers.

I would never recommend starting with crossfire to anyone though, so why buy an outdated gpu to add another outdated one a few months/years down the road? I personally would go 5770.

Did you notice that 3/7 reviews had bad memory and were blue screening? If you were to get it without any problems then yes, that is a decent build.

I would disagree. Building your own computer is good and dandy if you enjoy that thing, or can put up with it. But if not, there's no reason to. Also you can know how your computer works without building it.

My point was that a 4850 is more than half a 5850. It's still an excellent card and will last a few years, depending on the games played. It obviously won't play metro 2033, but it will play sc2, any source game, and farmville with over 60 fps. Shoot, it plays crysis on high. You have some ridiculously high standards. I'm surprised you didn't mention that you should never get a GTS 250 because it's a 4 year old card.

Yes, I did. That's what RMAs are for and why you don't want to buy an all in one.

While it's theoretically possible, it seems pretty unlikely to me that someone would know how computers work, know how to build a computer, and never build a computer. If the only reason to build a computer is because you enjoy it or can put up with it, then very few people would build their own computers.

My dad knows how to build computers but just doesn't have time or want the hassle. But I doubt that's ciara's case.
