http://store.steampowered.com/freeportal/You have until May 24th. If you've never played this game, download it NOW.
Portal used to cost money. Until May 24th, it's free. End of story.
Well, technically speaking, there are some strings attached. Fortunately, they're entirely decorative. We just like the way they look, swaying in the gentle breeze created by a million people simultanously fainting from shock at the news that Portal is free. Now you have no reason not to try Portal.
"I have a reason," some of you are probably typing into an angry email. "You see, sir, I own a Mac."
Well guess what: For the first time ever, Portal is also available for the Mac.
"Capital news! But the excellent puzzle adventure Portal won over 40 Game of the Year awards; Surely it must cost at least five or six hundred dollars."
You'd think that, especially since it actually won over 70 Game of the Year Awards. But, like we keep saying, Portal is free. Free on the Mac. Free on the PC. But only until May 24th. So you only have a few days to decide if your free copy of Portal is worth the price we're currently charging - which is you ever-so-slightly moving your index finger just barely enough to click the big red "download" button right there to the left.
Playing portal was such an awesome experience

Hmm. Can someone download this and verify that it's not some sort of scam/virus?

I wish i could give steam a big long hug right now

Awesome. This game rocks because the development was
ran by a team of DigiPen students Went and had it registered to my account even though my current PC can't run it yet

Got steam for mac... Got portal... Beat it in the short time of 4 hours.
Amazing game. I already knew it through the credits song which is one of the most amazing songs ever.
Still... Just hilarious and fun to play.

Got steam for mac... Got portal...
Same here. I downloaded it last night on my MacBook Pro. I was a little surprised at how well Portal ran (though I can play SC2 on low settings fine so I was expecting it to be playable), it ran almost as good as our old desktop computer and XBox360 ran it. I was also too lazy plug in my laptop before i started playing (it said 2 hours of battery left before opening Portal) so i expected to play for 5 minutes before my laptop battery died. But no, I played for like a half our and when I exited I had 1:58 minutes of battery left.

Your macbook pro can only run sc2 on low?
I have one of the newer (not newest) 13-inch ones, and can play it pretty fine on medium. I also customized the setting to use high setting on CPU intensive stuff, and it works fine. Apparently my CPU isnt bad.
Also, although portal works well, steam right now is pretty bugged for macs. I mean lke, it wont let you quit and you have to force quit it. It's pretty rough.
But hey, at least we have it

I never tried changing the settings for SC2, it was just on low by default. It ran perfect so I don't doubt it would run on higher settings.

I didn't have any problems with it. Edit: Oh I just remembered, there was no sound when I tried to play, I had to turn on subtitles heh

Awesome. Downloaded it. Beat it. Deleted it. Not gonna buy it. Thanks steam!
But seriously, it has little replay value.

It's a pretty cool game, but as rockz said, it has little replay value, unless you go for achievements at least.
Even though I already beat it, I'll download it again. If I could only remember my login...
tits
I LUV PORTAL
I downloaded it yesterday, and played it from start to finish for four hours. I only died twice, both of which were into the acid-liquid stuff.
