So here I am, bored to the point of making a SC love thread, because you can't make maps for this game without loving it and everything that has to do with it.
What I want to do in this thread is talk about our experiences with SC, map making, Temple siege games, high-lat bounds that you could never win, even the melee games that I am sure I am not alone not to be able to play properly.

So I start. This song gave me the idea to start this thread, because it's just all about showing big love to SC.

Edit: Oh come on, I am sure some people got something to say about StarCraft! Some funny moments or something... no?

I'll the the liberty of.... FIRST! :awesome:

My best moments in...
Melee - I once played a game on Andromeda against some C player on ICCup, I was Protoss and he was Terran, and we were across the map from eachother (10:30 vs 4:30). This game lasted over 3 hours, and I eventually beat him with my superior army of siege tanks and vultures. Did you get that? My Terran army crushed his. About an hour into the game, I mind controlled one of his SCVs, and proceeded to build a Terran base in an island expo. We kept going at it for a while, and I eventually recalled into his main, destroying most of his tech and factories, he decided not to defend it but go and destroy my main as well. Since all of my Protoss tech was gone, except for a Nexus here and a Gateway there, I decided to keep building upon the semi-functional Terran base I had in a recently empty main... good thing I killed most of his tech. We then duked it out for another two hours, and he eventually GG'd when my BC army attacked an expo while my ghost nuked another.

MacroMicro - Again, I was Protoss (Macro) and my opponents were Terran, on Python. I was at the 12 main and he was at the 3. I decided to do some major cheese and attempt do recreate this. I built a pylon next to his CC, and then proceeded to try and keep two gateways, a pylon, and a shield battery alive while I tried to scrummage enough minerals and gas for Dragoons. Unfortunately I never got that far, and he killed off all of the proxies. After that I fought a tough fight, and eventually won.

Temple Siege - If you've played Temple Siege with/against me, you KNOW that I am the God of the Dark Mage.

The Campaign - On the Zerg Mission that leads into the secret Protoss mini-mission, I had Prima's O.S.G. with me. I must have read it incorrectly, because for two years I thought that I had to beat the mission UNDER five minutes instead of with at least five minutes left in order to play the secret mission. It drove me crazy! I kept restarting it because NOBODY can beat it in five minutes... without cheats of course. But I didn't know they existed then. Therefore I spent two years with absolutely no progress on The Campaign. ;-)

Big Game Hunters - Once in a while I tread the plagued ground that is called the Big Game Hunters (BGH obviously). On this occasion, it was a 3v3 game with Me (Protoss), Two teammates (Both Terran) and an opposing team of all 3 races. One of my teammates left and then the other also left shortly after. I still decided to play though, and had a cow for the rest of the match. I'm not gonna say what happens after word, because the outcome is awesome. I'll post the replay... when I find it.

Just all-around Starcraft - When I was 9, I was inspired to make a map. I had no idea how to, and thus I spent a few weeks trying to learn how to use the editor that came with Starcraft. I'm sure you guys remember the Pikmin maps, right? I made the first one :teach: , it was absolutely horrid in every way imaginable. But back then I thought it was the greatest map ever ^^ . Around that time I had checked out B.net for the first time (which opened my eyes to a lot of things that I'd rather have lived without), and hosted it. The username I had at that time was called "Spongbob" (If any of you remember ever seeing that username, that was me). Because the map was disgustingly bad to all who played it, I was discouraged and stopped playing on B.net for a whole year. When I came back, I found some guy hosting a better version of it, and after playing a few games someone said "hey werent u that n00b who made this map?" to me. Of course, all the references to me eventually disappeared, But I don't care. At least I spawned a small franchise that's hosted once in a while on B.net :)

Anyway, these are some of my most treasured moments in Starcraft. I hope you'll post some of yours as well.
I still want these to made into smileys: Awesome variant and << :Olimar:

Wow your exciting and interesting sc career makes me Q.Q

Well one time, while testing an unreleased map called Tanks (I still have it) and as a reaver shot a scarab at me, I went down a pathway heading towards the left, the scarab went another path seperated by 1 tile of unwalkable. I thought I was safe, but the scarab went all the way down it, turned around into my lane, and killed me. Gotta love good pathing.

I once beat infested run with 1 hp left.

I'll post more if I think of it.

Me and my friends managed to stress StarCraft's collision box unstacking system hard enough that we got a reaver to shoot across a river. It happened in UED_Admiral's Lost Kingdoms map, at the bridge to the Kingdom zone. I managed to hold that bridge against my enemies for 45 minutes with only the Kingdom spawn, which isn't all that impressive because of the uber-cheap chokepoint that the Kingdom has.

Unfortunately, the game was too long to save a replay, and no one managed to get a screenshot in time - but we did get a reaver to shoot across the water. I'll never forget. ^^

Oh... my god... that was even better than... well...

So here's the setup, there's a professional TvZ match. The T nuke rushes.

As soon as the judge sees the silo... all of the koreans go "NUCREO SIRO COMMO DURI DAH!" And about 50 of them go "OOOOOHH!!!!" I died from laughter.
