This was originally created as my submission to the first SC2 Beta Key Contest: Fire. It was intended to be a relatively short RPG, heavy in storyline, and nostalgic of old console games like FF3 and Dragon Warrior (both of which I've stolen a few sounds from). The project became bigger than anticipated, and I was met with a lot of positive feedback/suggestions on Battle.net as well as a lot of unexpected bugs/issues, time spent working on these things has kind of attached me to this would-be side project.

Triune RPG provides about 45min of game play to 3 average players.

For the time constraint this map had in its production, it was surprisingly good. We did run into one bug, however, when we fought Saro. Both of us died and were revived back in town, however, every few seconds Saro would say "I enjoy your pain" and the screen would center back to his fight zone. I'm pretty sure the glitch had something to do with the Black Mage's skeleton, since he could use his skeleton ability after that and I think I remember seeing one still in the fight zone. The problem resolved itself when we both arrived there again and reengaged Saro. This time however, it gave me 2 Cristos, which came in handy when we killed Saro.

Overall, exceeded expectations, though obviously it isn't a full blown rpg and has its issues (one of them being annoying terrain height issues in a couple of the battle fields).

That was a pretty fun game... except the last battle was so buggy.
I kept getting mind controlled or whatever which is fine but since I was the last person left that was kind of useless, and my screen went dark.
Also, I was invincible for some reason so I after my teammates died off in the first 10 seconds of battle I slowly killed the boss, because he couldn't attack me.

Thanks for reviewing guys! You're feedback means a lot to me. I've finished with my "final" version, which fixes a lot of minor bugs as well as the major ones, like some bosses glitching out if you attempt to re-engage them. It also added new abilities/strengths to some of the bosses: Rosa spawns hallucinations, Saro shoots scarabs, etc. The major complaint I recieve now on Battle.net is that its either "too easy", or "too short". Both of those I can live with: "too easy" is fine because I still run into a lot of people who have a hard time figuring out the spell system, item system, etc, which I think was pretty standard for most RPGs. "Too short" is fine, because I didn't have all that time to design the game, and it also implies that they would like to play it more =).

If you have time, give the attached version a try and see what you think =).

Well, I haven't played the newest version yet (I plan to either later tonight or tomorrow) but I beat the older version by myself. One thing I feel is that the later bosses, although great, we extremely difficult for single player, while the earlier bosses just seemed like a little bit stronger than the average monsters.
One thing I think could have been better is a more detailed description of what each spell does. I know I never used the Black Mage's level 3 spell because I thought it was going to do something other than create zerglings (I thought it would make the enemy units run to the opposite corners, which wouldn't have helped me at all).

All in all, this was a great game, and I loved nearly every minute of it, except the last bit when grinding for minerals to kill the final boss.

This is a great map. But I agree with New-Guy that the early bosses were a bit easy, but the later ones were quite challenging for single player. One thing I would like to see is, after you use a level up thing to increase hp. mp, etc. it doesn't always center back to the player. It's not that difficult to do on my own, but it gets annoying after awhile.

All in all, I liked the map. I finished it with the white mage, and I'm going to replay it with the other two. :D

Stumbled across this gem of a map and my mate and I had quite a lot of fun with it. Tracked down this thread and surprised to see how little recognition it got!
