Actually I would disagree. While I do believe that people are getting married for the wrong reasons these days, I don't think it has much to do with sex. It's because people are going into marriage believing a media stereotype that 'love is all you need'. In reality love is just part of what you need to have a successful, long-term relationship. If people love each other but are incompatible in some areas then their relationship will probably not last forever. Also, I would argue that good sex is necessary for a healthy relationship. Marriage is a complex thing, and if you enter into it for love alone then you are suffering from a certain naivete. Expectations of marriage are also unreasonably high - it's hard work and people who aren't willing to persevere and adapt their lives and personalities to their partners, or in raising their children, will fail by virtue of their own selfishness.

I disagree, people were married before they loved one another, so obviously love isn't needed at all.

Divorce is increasing due to three reasons. 1. Unit families normally have both parents working for some unknown reason, and so nobody spends anytime together, and nothing destroys an active relationship like inactivity. 2. Divorce is not uncommon, and the stigma associated with being divorced no longer means there is something wrong with you. 3. Because kids drive their parents up a wall, which parents take out on each other since its illegal to abuse your child. THAT'S RIGHT ALL YOU KIDS WITH DIVORCED PARENTS, IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!

A lot of truth there. Of course decent sex is necessary for an intimate relationship, but it, at least in my opinion, should be a happy (and probably necessary) side thing rather than a founding reason for the relationship. Whether or not a girl has breasts the size of Pamela Anderson, etc., it's still possible to have sex.
