The sword and the faith

Ello SEN,
Trying to install FO3 GOTY on Win7 x64. Google tells me this error is very wide spread, however none of the fixes (delete installshield file folders, update installshield) have fixed the error. Here are the specifics and anyone who can help me out gets a cookie:

Run FO3. Click install.

Me and a friend acquired FO3 GOTY. He had win7 and I XP. His never got passed the loading screen when you try to make a new game.

http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/intro.aspx

declares that Fallout3 can't be run on Windows 7. You will fail the OS test if you have win7. If by some miracle you can get this to work, thousand thank yous you shall receive from my friend. As ignorant as it may sound this is one reason I don't want to get Win7 yet

None.

I'm the first to say Win7 has issues, however there are sacrifices for being on the latest OS, and compatibility is one of them.

I'll probably boot over to my WinXP HDD for some FO3, but I'd much rather be able to install it on Win7.

I pirated FO3 and it's running fine on my Win7. Perhaps get a no-cd crack? Those often solve issues.

None.

It can't get past the install is my issue. I think if there was one of those extract and play torrents for it I'd be okay though.

You said you have XP on another hard drive - try installing it in that, then see if you can run it in Windows 7 from that installed copy.

None.

You should still try to "obtain" another copy and try again with it. I don't know how many releases there are but maybe one of them will work.

I've tried several.

That sounds odd but it may be worth a shot, I'll look into it.
