Fyi Html is not a programming language. Anyway, I wanna c who here knows some programming. If your looking into editing maps on sc2 and want to try the scripting language your best bet would be to practice some basic programming in C++. I''ve done some vBasic, C++, and basic Java( Failed DS couple times lol). You don't want the wc3 mappers to dominate the sc2 do u? Nonetheless, I'd like to help some SEN get started on some basic easy programming.

www.scribd.com is what I call, "pdf-only google mode"; you can search books and tutorials free to download.

Hello

Gaming languages I know and learned:
VB, and tried some C++ (but failed)

Other languages I learned:
(HTML), AJAX, PHP, SQL, JS, CSS and more...

Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

Java and a bit C++. But the c++ compiler killed me :X...
But they are still pretty similar except you need to understand what pointers are.

Atm, I try to learn to use swing in java (in short: a GUI) because I'm not motivated in mapping for sc. :(

edit:
oh, I can code in Scmdraft's text Trigger Language. Does that count? ;D

Your vote is broken. Can't select more than 1. Would've voted:
C++
vBasic (also QBasic lol)
and other: Pascal, PHP (just superficial), Assembler (just superficial), SQL queries
non-programming languages: VHDL and HTML

But I don't know any of them good enough (anymore) to help anyone out. However the basics are there so I'm confident I can handle Galax-C.

I'm learning Java... but I don't know it enough to do any real programming yet.

I know PHP, SQL, JS and a tad bit of C++. I still can't do anything with C++ though.

I think these are considered programming languages:
C for Unix
Visual Basic (this includes ASP)
Java (this includes Javascript)
PHP
ActionScript 3.0 (this includes Flex 3)

But I also know:
HTML (combined with Javascript and PHP makes AJAX)
CSS
MySQL

You need to allow to vote in more than one column :-(

I know so far listed from most fluent to least:
Python
C
C++
AS3 (Flash CS3 and Flex3)

I consider these three languages to be the most useful, at least for my intents and purposes. I plan to very soon return to studying just C and C++.

Also, I wouldn't really call VB programming, but I guess that is just a matter of opinion, sort of.

In the farther future I plan to learn HTML, PHP, and SQL, and LUA.

Learned C++ partially and learning Perl right now.

I frequently program in Java and PHP (JavaScript, SQL, AJAX, etc.), but I have some experience in Visual Basic, Python, and C. All object-oriented and most imperative languages are fairly equivalent though so I could easily work in most of them with a small bit of study.

I don't do functional languages and other weird things like Haskell.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

matlab and splus. Also autoit and ti-83 plus(not much of a language).

Those count, right?

My attempts at C, java, and VB have been riddled with failure.

How do you like Perl? What's it like? How's it compare to the C/C++ you learned?

Awww don't tell me you didn't play around with Nibbles. I made new levels and whatnot and then played with my mother! :D God, these were fun times.
For those of you who don't know it: It's a snake clone - actually the first snake game I've known, so for me it's the first. :P
It came free with QBasic as an example prog (and also Gorillas which was the father of Worms/Bomb aka Tankwars). And QBasic was included in MS DOS 5.0 so everyone had them!

A (self-proclaimed) mastery of JavaScript and a very loose grasp of PHP. Do TI-BASIC and Windows batch scripting count?
