I see you !

Just ried it with a couple of zerg units, couldn't reproduce the craash. DO you have more info?

E: Found and fixed the zoom freeze, was a race condition which very rarely triggered. Also implemented ctrl+mousewheel zooming.

I order you to forgive yourself!

Now, whenever I exit from the unit properties, I get an error message.

I see you !

I just fixed that with kenoli testing it as it worked for me, will update the download later today or tommarow with that fix, the zoom freeze fix, and a fix for the apperance of hallucinated units.

E: Download updated.

Ah, so do you still need a precise way of triggering the hallucination glitch? It happened when doing terran/protoss air units for me.

None.

Another idea is to include the unit stats such as...
Listing attack speeds in the unit settings box seems like a good idea. SI indicated that he might do this.

Attack speeds based on my observations. If someone wants to verify this that would be good.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Firebats and flame traps hit 1-3 times, and lurkers hit 1-2 times. Ultras attack with same speed as marines if spammed to attack.

They match all my numbers otherwise. How long was the test to get such exact numbers for all the units with similar cooldowns?

Feb 12 2010, 3:30 pm Kenoli Post #367

I just copied a value for units with very similar speeds.
The raw data has like Ghosts at 1.054213 and Goliaths at 1.053581. I consider such small variations unimportant since many units miss about 0.5% of their attacks randomly.

Also firebats and flame traps are weird. Their attacks have like multiple splash areas that deal different amounts of damage or something.

Naw it should be fixed.

How have you determined the Ultralisk's attack?
And the Broodlings?

None.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

pretty sure it's 3 attacks, in a line, 24, 53, 80 pixels in a line. Each does splash damage, 15, 20, 25 radii.

I think it looks like this. If the collision box is in the red, they take 100% damage. If the collision box is in the yellow, but not the red, they take 50% damage. If the collision box is only in the green, they take 25% damage. That means a large unit (say tank) right up next to the firebat would take 100% from the first hit, 25% from the second hit, and 0 from the third hit. That's further changed by concussive to large damage. The same tank, if positioned diagonally has a diagonal length of 32*sqrt(2) pixels, or about 45 pixels, which is plenty to get all 3 hits in at 100%.

I could be very much mistaken, since often times you'll be attacking someone, and it seems like the third shot should be at least hitting in the 25% zone. A firebat's max range is 32 pixels, and the min distance for the 3rd hit is 80-25, or 55. That means at max, the unit has to be 55-32=23 pixels long for all 3 hits to occur. That doesn't seem too ridiculous though.

Add Random to the default race selections. <- That is possible? Anyone have a map with that set?

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

"SIDE" Section
Required for all game types (vanilla, hybrid, broodwar)
This section contains the species/race of each player.

* 12 bytes: 1 byte/player for species of player:
o 00 - Zerg
o 01 - Terran
o 02 - Protoss
o 03 - Unused (Independent)
o 04 - Unused (Neutral)
o 05 - User Selectable
o 06 - Random (Forced; Acts as a selected race; Does not randomize race like user select;)
o 07 - Inactive

I crashed when I used 06.

If you're in the mood to remove stuff that doesn't matter, is there any reason to change anything about players 9-12?

Ultralisks do not attack the same speed every time...
And for broodlings, it's my fault, I was thinking about the way they move. xD

It's average speed over a long time.

I just want the option to put in whatever I want in most cases, so that I can test it out without having to hex edit the map. If we can put in numbers in any dropdown menu, that would solve any problems. You've already done it with color, so I don't think it would be a problem. The problem arises when you don't click the dropdown menu after typing "blue" in the color, and you close the window. If you open it up again, the color has reverted to red. An autofill option would be nice like you have in classic trigedit. Doesn't matter much in the long run though.

Maybe people will hate this idea, but I'd prefer to leave off "zerg", "terran", and "protoss" in classic trigedit as well, like starforge does. Changing them to simply "marine" "goliath" etc... would help tons. Typing in "protoss observe" to get to an observer is ridiculous. I also haven't checked to see if the unused units are named better either (if they are, awesome, if they aren't, boo!). You've already done this with the resource powerups, so I know it's not too hard to do.

Nothing attacks the same speed every time. We can only get averages. However, as I said before, Ultras which are spammed to attack will attack with the same speed as broods/rines/hyds/scv/etc... and if left alone typically have an artificial cooldown of 17, rather than their real 15.

So, for micro purpose, it's better to spam clicks with an ultra? When we do so with dragoons, they just do not attack...

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Yeah. You can time infested kerrigan to attack faster too, but you gotta do it right after she hits, not before. I can't get a timer to properly order her to attack, and I'm not going to manually do it, so I'll never know how fast she can actually attack. Ultras have a short init sequence. Dragoons have a LONG init sequence.
