I like the blend, but I have seen it with slightly less blocks..

to plain. needs more time/work.
None.
its just a ramp... its not that plain...
None.
It looks awesome, but I can't really see from the pictures, but are those 3 layers of dirt or just 2 + a high dirts wall?
None.
?
i think 2 + a high dirt wall...?
None.
if you were going to put that terrain into a map right now it would be to plain, people would think it was kewl for about 5 seconds. Then again, you probably don't care enough to ask me well what should I instead? and you would just take it personal like telling a Christian god doesn't exist.
None.
sharf is actually a pretty ok dude Zell. Chill.
In any case i think hes just showing the frame-work and the decoration/doodading has yet to be done.
Let him speak for himself.
None.
@ Zell.: Hey man do you want to get on everyones bad sides in the first 5 days of sen being up? lol And since when are you the go-to terrain god? I would like to see some of your stuff if you think you've got it.
And prolly don't tell my buddy Ex what to do
@ Sharf: Hey would you mind updating your pics and PMing me cause i want to check up and see how it's all going
You are going to keep updating right?
None.
That Ruins ramp is interesting. The holes in the Ruins terrain and the angle of the strip give the illusion that the ramp is actually going up when there isn't even a ramp there.
None.
Just asking as a city builder in rps but... how much city making spots are in this one
just curious
None.
Jello lol. I'm not a dick some one needs to tell him its not that good. That would take less than an hour.
None.
Haha aight aight.
But coming from me, a noob at terrain who has been judged by wooden, It sucks when someone only tells you how bad it is lol. And it is a ton more motivating when someone tells you something that isn't completely awful
None.
Yes, Wooden is a dick when it comes to terrain. But thats why i started terraining hah, to compete against him.
None.
Looks good, although everything has improper terrain height, although most people playing won't care, it just looks kinda weird when something suddenly goes up a cliff without rising at all.
I dont get what you mean? There is a ramp at every spot, there is one spot though where i could see your point... it's done that way so it looks more like a gradual hill then a ramp.
I second that, in the second last picture it looks like an optical illusion
None.
Nice to see some people defending me in my absense. I have been sick and not doing much. I'll be working on it more
Zell, your competeing with Wooden alright, competeing to be the terrain ass.
Yes, alot of opticle allusions. Some people get it some don't
Also about the terrain being plain.... for example the ruins ramp.... thats only 10x10 squares of the map....
I'll be doing more work and putting stuff together.
Uhm city wise.... the way I do the terrain... you can have areas that are kinda cramped, but great for cities, or it can be used as a small passage for hero scenes etc. How ever one thing requested by my friend is a jail, that has cells and an arena for battles.
Thanks for all your comments. *cough* not Zell *cough*
None.
Haha well I hope you are better so that instead of defending your work you could improve it which is the better of the two. As for a jail i think that sounds like a pretty sweet idea but I caught myself reading that and thinking a friend of yours was in jail and was requesting something and I had to read that twice lol!
Too long of a work day I suppose... Anyways, you fit the terrain into the purpose of the map, so I am assuming if there is a small area there it is meant for an rp(which it is) and if there is a large area then there is either a really large fight scene or something or you need to add some doodading to fill the area
As for the optical allusions, you see what you let more mind see, so if you aren't trying to comprehend what is implied by the shading of each tile then you might be tricked
None.
I think the main reason why you should do proper terrain height, is that while YOU might see it as a hill, not everyone does, and it's not like YOU see anything wrong with proper terrain height.
