Fixed a game-breaking bug.
Azala's 90KB RPG v1.102

Well, even though we haven't gotten everything sorted out, I don't want to go back on my word and not give you an official word before Wednesday is finished. So here goes: Updates are due by 12:00 AM Friday, pacific time. We will commence judging this weekend, we should and have results as soon as we have played everone's map and had time to grapple over the scories. I requested that all judges play all the maps to completion at least once, so this could take a while. Take a well deserved break and let us handle it from there.

May I submit a DEMO for the prequel to my submitted RPG to increase my chances of winning?

Now I'm confused... First we can update, then we can't, now we can again? I don't even feel like its worth it anymore....

I started finishing mine, and then Kaias posted so I stopped... And since completion doesn't matter anyway, why bother?

Kaias said he doesn't care. He didn't say that you couldn't keep working. Completion doesn't matter for qualification, but it certainly elevates your map if it is a complete experience.

Part of the reason that I even allowed this is because many of the judges have different versions of the maps. I want us all to have uniform versions when we judge. I guess Kaias hasn't changed the initial post so this was totally unnecessary, but, unless I am hit with a very compelling reason, I am not going to go back and disallow the updates. If you had planned to "finish" your map with the extra time, your edits would have been, by far, the most substantial. Based on the edits I have seen of other people's maps, they were only fixing bugs. You, on the other hand, wanted to add extra content. If you still want to try to finish your map, go ahead. Just don't think that everyone else got a bigger advantage than you did, because that isn't the case.

Worth what? All this contest is for is about a month's worth of bragging rights and the acknowledgment of your map above your peers.

My opinion on these contests is for the judges to tell you what was wrong with your map in several different opinions, so that you know what to do better on your next map. Such as if this one system you had could have been better, they tell you what a superior alternative is. Or maybe they say some idea you threw in didn't fit the map, you'll know what mixes and what doesn't. I personally believe that negative comments on your map from an experienced mapper, are far better than positive ones.

I would rather get a... devilesk: Wow, fucking fail spawn system. Try [link], [link] and [link], they would work out much more effeciently. Btw, your map sux.
Versus something like, OlimarandLouie: OMG, AWESOME MAP, KTHX.

The last thing you should be worried about are a few edits. True, I don't really approve of the edits, so I am going with what was originally posted, not the fixes. I believe a few of the judges agree on this matter.

Honestly for me, and i think a lot of people, the contest was mostly just about motivation and learning a lot more. Over 2009 i learned so much its ridiculous and i made real progress for the first time in any maps.

@ sam

Agreed, my RPG thread will prove this to you. take a look at the first 3 FF maps i've made. Then play Burden of Gilgamesh and you'll instantly see what this RPG challenge has done for me.

Glad to see there were no last minute updaters. Judges should now have all the maps and be ready to test. I'm sure most of you have already begun playing the maps, so let's just keep in contact as we make our way through all of them.

Now that all submissions are final, can you update the map links on the main page? I'm still getting bug reports about my old version.
My last contest-eligible version was Azala's 90KB RPG v1.102, as posted above.

How exactly is it dying? I think everyone is just waiting for the judges to make a decision. And thats it, Contest finished.
