Anyone have any ideas on how to increase mining so you can get more than 8 minerals per trip?

My original idea was to have a lot of 8 mineral patches stacked on top of each other and since they're eight minerals, they would be removed once they were mined. From there, I simply had triggers that counted how many mineral patches there were and gave the player additional x minerals. This didn't work because I can't have more than 1 scv mining a mineral patch at the same time and obviously since I had stacked minerals, the scvs just stacked on each other. Any other ideas? Maybe EUDs? (don't bother mentioning actions).

Apparently preplacing a Nuclear Missile for Player 69 will decrease the input from all minerals gathered to 7 instead of 8. Perhaps there's an extended player/unit combo to raise it?

Thanks for the ideas, but I need to be able to give differentiate the amount of minerals gained from base to base.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

create resources with a limited amount of minerals and decrease the cost of everything in your map.

Is the player human? Else you could make each base a different computer player.

Workaround: Virtual Mining.
Detect how many patches are left on each base and how many scvs are mining them, then give an autoincome based on these numbers.

@Nude: How would they detect when an SCV is actually mining a patch? If they just check if the SCVs are in a location near the minerals, then a player could just have some SCVs sit around (or even build structures!) near the minerals and still earn ore.

...but if an SCV was near a CC when the player's minerals increased...

...and if that is used in combination with the Changing Minerals Mined link...

...then the OP can detect which base mined minerals when, and vary the exchange rate...?

I'd try it, but it's 4AM. Don't have time. But it seems like it could work, though one would have to cycle through each CC/Nex/Hatch.

Yes, but he would only get the extra income, not the actual income through mining, so it's unlikely someone will do that. And if he does, what's the problem?
The only problem I see is that this can be exploited if the patches are nearly mined. He could just sit there getting autoincome and not finishing mining. But there's ways to prevent that too.
