I was watching tv last night and learned about some disc that we put into space with the DNA of a few humans...steven hawking, some model, etc. It is for aliens to see what we were in the instance that humans became extinct.

So i thought of a map =]

I think it would be a nifty map where you play as one of three heros among a totally alien civilization. Obviously you have no memories of Earth or other humans because you were created by these aliens...you don't know that of course. Maybe one day you start to ask questions or for some reason there is a mission to the planet Earth and you go and it seems 'right' to you. something along those lines. Not sure who the enemy would be or anything like that but i think it is a cool concept.

Holy crap this is a great idea. You wake up and your in a clone chamber or something and they let you out and tell you about your dead race and everything, and they say that the humans had shot a group of people out in to space before they were annihilated so you decide to go looking for the leftovers of the human race.

This could be fucking brilliant.

So your idea consists only of string differences?

If you're saying that all i have for the idea is a little tidbit of story then yeah...thats it =]. I don't plan on making it...i'm playing with some other map right now but i just thought I would share. Samsizzle rejoice!

I was thinking about this a bit more and say that there is some mission to Earth that you join the aliens on. Here you would see the similarity between the bones all over and ask who these creatures were and what happened to them. Then you would learn that the Earthlings did not suffer a natural extinction but instead were slaughtered by some other alien race.

That race comes back for more mischief blah blah blah rpg. haha

Also after the game gets going and you've been told you were also an Earthling and were informed of their physical traits and lack of any crazy abilities other than higher thinking and jazz like that...you begin your mission to stop this other alien race from fucking shit up. During some fight some crazy energy is released from you and you use one of the abilities that the alien race that brought you up is known to use. You later find out that during your creation, you were infused with some of their abilities but the information was kept from you.

So this means there's a reasonable explanation to why the human has insane magical powers. This could be a real great map.

It would be more interesting if the alien race that wiped out the humans is actually the same race that raised you.

There's more emotional involvement that way. There'd be all kinds of crazy questions about where your loyalties lie, and questions about why they re-created you in the first place. And then, of course, why they brought you back to the same planet they wiped out.

Like, now they want you to settle there and re-build the human race. And now you're torn between anger against the aliens who destroyed your people, and a desire to revive your species.

And then you find out the reason why they destroyed the humans in the first place...

This would add a great twist to it. And you could have a sequal after the human race has developed enough it gathers forces to take out the aliens and it turns into a sort of warfare battlefield map with vehicles and bombs and epic battles and explosions and all sorts of goodies. GO MAKE IT!

lol yeah that is a pretty damn good twist. pft lets just start our own blizzard...show up those fools =p
