So my brother MIGHT buy a Wii...

Are you sure about that?

So my brother needs "historial crediticio". I have no idea of how to say that in english, I do not even know why does he need it :P Basically he needs to buy something so people that work with uh... Money, may "trust" him, so he might buy a Wii.

I have my doubts when it comes to prices and games. The price for the Wii is not under discussion since it must be bought from my own country, however, some other stuff such as controllers and games has got me a little bit confused.

First off, we do not have much money, or at least my brother is not disposed to spend much money in this purchase. He is most likely getting a Wii + the most likely included remote and nunchuk, and some other game. My other brother is a Zelda fan, so if the Wii ever gets home, he is going to wet himself over Zelda and buy it, no doubt. But, what game should my brother get? I really wanted Mario Kart Wii, but since my other brother dislikes it, they might be getting Brawl.

As to myself, I would love to play Metroid Corruption and Mario Kart Wii, seeing how they will not purchase it >_>u

What is the standard price for Wii games, and Wii controllers? Nothing too fancy, I am trying to be economic here. And what other games out there are worth purchasing for this console?

tl;dr, getting a wii, want opinion on gameplay, games and prices

Inb4 Ex rant about Wii is not a good Nintendo Console

If you're a big mario fan, Super Mario Galaxy is a MUST. Easily one of the funniest games I've played. Brawl is pretty epic too, assuming you liked melee, or you like buttom smashers. ;) Metroid Corruption is good, I'd only recommend it if you are interested in the Metroid franchise, or, you want to experience one of the best controlling FPSs of the year. If you really don't care about the new mint condition feel, I'm pretty sure you can get most of these games used, saves you a lot of money. New Super Mario Bros Wii is also good, assuming you have someone willing to play. :P

I have Mario Kart Wii and Brawl, and after playing them both for a while now, I'd say pick Mario Kart. Honestly, Brawl gets boring after a while. Mario Kart only gets boring if you play too long in one sitting. Then you can pick it up again the next day and it will still be fun. I have Super Mario Galaxy too. It's a fun game, but if you want to play with friends/siblings, it's only single player, but otherwise, it's really fun. I haven't played/don't own Metroid Corruption, so I don't know if it it is good or not.

Are you sure about that?

This is the situation: One of the Mario games will be in because we need a multiplayer game. That would be brother A buying it, and it is very likely to be Brawl because of short matches; we do not have that much time to be together like to play something similar to Mario Party 8

Brother B will buy a single player game, ergo, Twilight Princess.

As for myself, I am unsure. I do not have as much money as I wish, so I would have to decide between Mario Kart Wii (If they do buy Brawl) and Metroid, ooor some other game that might have slipped my mind or that I have no knowledge of yet.

What really caught my eye from Mario Kart is that, in comparison to Brawl, I would find online matches so much funner. But back then, brother B still wants Brawl because he dislikes Kart, and I guess it is 2 on 1 (Which makes ME the minority). I really want Mario Kart Wii and have fun online.

Let us say Super Mario Galaxy will be a... Future purchase. Right now I want games that I may play with other people, even better if they can be played online.

New Super Mario Bros Wii can be played in short bursts, anyone can jump in and out at the beginning and ends of stages, you might like that. :P

brawl imois the best bet. You can play online, although the matchmaking is somewhat lacking, and it's a game you can never master.

But if you want Brawl solely for online play, you're going to be disappointed, online is sub-par. Though my favourite is still 4 players duking it out, so fun and imba. :P If you have lots of family or friends, brawl is super fun.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

I'm thinking I'm going to ask for one of these as a christmas/graduation present.

From what I can see, the Wii costs $200 and the Wiimotes cost $40 USD. Games are $50. I expect a significant discount if you shop around, and a significant markup if you don't buy in the US or Japan. Games especially, when bought used, are much cheaper.

Wiimote + Chuk cost around 80$ in my country, I think. Same goes for new games. As for used games, I am not sure.

I keep seeing the ad for this game and it JUST MAKES ME WANT IT :drools:
But yes, Phobos, You want to go buy to las pulgas :P Honesly, almost everything I have for the PS2 (except for the console itself) I bought it on there. They sell both, new, and used games at cheaper prices (you can save a few bucks from new ones in there) and I also bought a couple of used games lik DDR + dance pads and I haven't got any problems with them in all seriousness.
Used games vary from $15 (depending on the game but that's as cheap as it gets) up to maybe 30/35. That is for PS2 games, not sure about wii butt shouldn't be that much more expensive.

fuck you all

Burned games also require you to leave your console for a day or so, so they can hack it / install the chip or whatever so that you are able to play burned games.
I wouldn't, myself, buy burned games that are to be played online.

UPDATE: We will be getting 3 sets of controls, Brawl, Kart and Twilight Princess. I will have to get Metroid and/or Mario Galaxy on my own when I have money >_>u
