Not to sound harsh or anything, but OoT is so much better. You're wasting your time on the NES version, In my opinion.

Perhaps when you're done with this one, make the N64 Version!?!?!?

A mod with zelda graphics needs to be made to go along with this

Yeah, it would appear several times and I was really stuck.

Hmm... I wonder, does the N64 version have a top-down view, tiles, and very simple game mechanics?

I agree.

@Pyro682: I chose The Legend of Zelda because I'm confident the end result will look and play like the game.

@Heinermann: Ok, I changed the screen transitions so there shouldn't be any more 'Stuck!'s, going to upload the map in a bit. Finished exterior to interior but used too many locations, so switching it to dc based.

If all I mod are the graphics, the map will still be playable without the mod correct? If so I'll gladly make a graphics mod to go with this.

Yessir. And we'd be happy to help over at the modding forums. This is certainly a nice project. Good work, and good luck.

If I ever get around to doing a full tile conversion, the tops on the list is a GBA Zelda and Pokemon one.

Making progress on your grid, or have you given up on that?

I'm making some progress, just going slowly so I hopefully get it right the first time (I imagine any problems caused by bugs from it would be hard to find the source of). Since I somehow broke a couple of my attachments today and they were both from this thread, here's a copy of the old version that I quickly updated to fix a few listed problems in case anyone who has not checked it out yet would like to do so.

Looks like this map will be great when its released. I really like the concept of the WASD controls. Look forward to seeing more!

Looks pretty dang cool. One thing I noticed is up and down move left and right when they are up against walls. I'm not sure if you can fix this, or if this is how it was intended, I was just checking. :) Good luck!

it would be nice if you made it so when you pressed two keys diagonally it would move your guy diagonally.

Diagonal movement is blasphemy if he wants to remain true to the NES Zelda.

Well maybe there should be an option then. I mean it only makes moving around the map faster.

Ya because the movement is slower than the origional nes zelda...

PS is this abandoned?

whats the point of making an exact replication of nes zelda in sc when u can play the real game on your computer with an emulator? it just doesnt make sense. Maybe if you were to incorporate new ideas or something, but making a duplicate of the nes game? id rather play the real thing...

I would rather see it made in sc.

i think that sc gives games charm. Maybe because it requires a little imagination. Yeah ok..that wierd little alien creature...i know its a zergling but i'll go along with wolf. sure.

Also it's partly the challenge i think too. "Lets see if i can emulate THIS game in another game!"

Most of my maps are remakes of other games. I tried my hand at rpgs, and got pretty far with some nice ones that got some attention, but after my long break i have no motivation to finish anything like that and doing stuff like what is happening here seems more fun.

my opinon.
