CAFG if you are going to be in the tournament, along with Moose, wouldn't you need more people to help keep things organized? Like how about people who get eliminated early in the tournament?
Speaking of getting eliminated, I thought I might mention a kind of bracket system that's used at the Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournaments that I attend every two weeks.
Here's how it works:
First and foremost, everybody signs up for the tournament as normal. The brackets for the first round are organized as normal (This works with any number of players, whether it be 1v1, 2v2, etc.)
When you normally look at a tournament bracket system, it looks something like this (but bigger)
P1-------\
````````------------\
P2-------/`````````\
``````````````````-------- Winner
P3-------\`````````/
````````------------/
P4-------/
But, in the Brawl tournys I go to, the bracket system looks like this.
<<<<<<<<<Loser's Bracket --------- Winner's Bracket>>>>>>>>>`````````````----------P1L------\
````````````/```````````````------------\``````````-------\
```````````/P1W````P2W-----/``````P2L\````````/```P3L\
A---------------```````````````````````````----------/`````````--------- Winner = P1
```````````\P4L`````P3W-----\``````P3W/```````````P1W/
````````````\```````````````-------------/`````````A-------/
`````````````----------P4L------/
Now, how this works, is that
there are TWO brackets. A Winner's Bracket and a Loser's Bracket. If you lose a game, you are not necessarily out of the tournament, but, you get a second chance. You are put into the Loser's Bracket. Take for example, how Player 1 lost to Player 2 in the first round. He was put into the Loser's Bracket, to face Player 4, who had also lost the first round. Since Player 1 beat Player 4, he got put into the A slot, which means he was the winner of the Loser's Bracket.
HE HAS NOT WON THE TOURNAMENT YET,
He has simply qualified for the final match. It's kind of simple. The winner of the Loser's Bracket faces the winner of the Winner's Bracket, for the championship title.
This means, that if you lose against a player who ends up winning the Winner's bracket, and you end up winning the Loser's Bracket, you will get to face that player again for a chance to get your revenge, and win the tournament.
I'm not sure if you already know about this bracket system, but I thought I'd just tell you anyway
*Note* Generally how it works, is if you lose BEFORE the Semi-Finals, you get put into the Loser's Bracket. But it really depends on how many people are attending.
If you have any questions about this bracket system feel free to ask
None.
