Anyone playing Aion? I preordered the collecter's edition so I'll get to choose my servers later today (I think 3pm..) as well as I get to start playing on Sunday. Me, my stepdad and his brother are going to take off work (school for me) on Monday just so we can get to at least level 15. I'm the healer
. Basically my stepdad, me, my stepdad's bro, and a couple of their friends are going to play in our group.
So I was just curious, fellow SENers, is anyone else going to play Aion?
None.
I plan on getting it, but my current computer can't handle it. If you pre-ordered it, you are able to play beta right?
None.
ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO
Me and Phobos (Almost Alive) were trying to play this. We couldn't get a beta key in our hands, though.
Feel free to give us any spare keys you got
Also, yes echo, if you pre order you can get the beta.
fuck you all
The beta ended I think on Wednesday. So no point even worrying about that
The actual game comes out on Tuesday (for those who didn't preorder the collector's edition)
None.
Tell me pleasant things of this "Aion"

Personally, I love the effects and the combat style. You can fly around and fight in the air (you have wings), the whole game is PvP but every now and again there will be this flying "pirate"-like ship that is a computer player that will show up to start attacking either the Elyos or Asmodians (which you choose.. its like the alliance vs horde in WoW). There is a crap ton of content already in the game before its even released (because everything gets played in Korea first)
Yes, but its being sold in the US so everything is translated to English.
None.

I'm almost afraid of buying new MMOs after abandoning AoC and WAR after three weeks. I'll wait till I can get a report from my CEO in EVE on the game.
I still play WoW to this day and the only game that has ever really seemed to capture my attention as far as exceptional MMOs go is Aion. From all the gameplay footage I've seen and reviews I've read, this game looks amazing. I'm not sure if I'm ready to invest in it just yet (I'm still cautious after Warhammer), but it looks promising.

Played it today. Usual thing you would expect from any MMO when it first starts (even WoW). Lag, disconnects, etc.
Started @ 3pm EST
So far, the game is fucking epic! 1-9 were extremely slow for me because I was being slow and not going to my trainer to get my spells so it took hours just to get to lvl 9. Then my stepdad came along and assisted me a bit until we got to level 10 then we were doing the same quests and such. I really recommend this to anyone who has a friend to play with. I played from 3pm until 4:30am and I got to level 13. Max level is 50.
Tons of quests, TONS of people (at one point my stepdad had to wait 3 hours just to get to play because of the queue ON ONE SERVER. They have a good 9 servers and each had a queue or 2k+ people. There were, however, annoyances with quests when there are mass amounts of players trying to do the same quest. Eventually, when NCSoft disabled login to the server I was playing on there were a few people running around and I got the quests done.
Campaign quests are fun as well as regular quests. OH AND CUTSCENES! The cutscenes in this game are unbelievable. You can get cutscenes doing campaign & regular quests.
I never liked WoW; I felt it was too dry at the beginning of each new character. On Aion, the beginning was sweet and easy to understand. If you need help locating a certain person, mob, item, or anything at all you can use the Locate feature in the quest menu.
None.
Since its Korean, I'll just tell you now. It takes effort and time to level up after 20 or so.
None.
Well I think I've been sold, then. I'm glad GameStop is still doing the Collector's Edition download, so I'll probably start that today or tomorrow. I'm excited.

So I didn't go to school and my stepdad and his brother didn't go to work. We played from 10am to 9:30pm. The game is simply amazing. Me & my stepdad were level 15 or 16 and were kiting level 18 elites/brutals. I was healing and doing some damage, while he was kiting and pulling out a large amount of DPS (he's a sorc)
I'll post more later today because I have to go to school. Group quests later today as well!

I actually like this aspect, a lot. One of my favorite things about WoW pre-expansions is how much effort you had to put in to level a character. Now you can get from 1 to 80 in a week or two.
Downloading Aion now. I'm excited.
EDIT:
I am a level 6 Scout. I'm really digging this game.
EDIT2:
Level 9 now. I kinda wanna be a Ranger, but people tell me Assassin is much better. Are Rangers just shit or something?

Rangers are shit at the beginning. They are really good end game.
I had to reroll on a different server. There was always a 2000 person queue on the Triniel server. I moved to Marchutan. I'm still a Cleric but I'm level 9 now instead of being level 20 like before lol
Oh and I beat a Ranger (level 18) when I was a level 17 Cleric just to show how crappy they are at the beginning
Clerics are one of the more powerful classes at the beginning to be honest. Its like this:
Sorcerer > Cleric > Templar > Ranger (a bunch of friends dueling and sorcerer always came out on top.. their sleeping and silences really own lol)
None.
Gotcha. I chose Assassin thinking that if I want to play Ranger I can always just make a new Scout.
Once I get a feel for this guy, though, I'll probably make a Sorc or Cleric. I always end up making a ton of characters when I start a new MMO.
