in every game it depends against which players you play.

e.g. Wolfenstein Enemy Territory (ET)

There are 2 game versions (3 in fact, but who plays 2.56 ?). It's not a must to patch the game -> so some 2.55 players maybe don't know that there is the 2.6 version.

When I played 2.55 (to the times where there weren't so many stupid mods which added lame weapons or lags), I slaugthered the whole server because you rarely found skilled players there (got some bans because they say I would hack, even if I had a bad day and took ages to kill someone).

Playing the pro mod etpro on 2.60b is way more difficult. Most people are pretty skilled (the ones that aren't using wallhacks). On some servers it's pretty difficult to get positive stats. You are mostly one of many "good" players and most better players only rarely visit a public server because they are only interested in league like matches.

So you need to join the competetive gaming scene to see how good you really are.
I'm only a low+/med- player in ET which means that there are thousands owning me.
If I would only know 2.55, I would think that I would be med+ (but in fact I am still a noob).

I suck at shooters. I'm rather godly at diplo maps for SC and WCIII, though. First time playing something, I often come out on top.

I don't play COD4 anymore, but I won a free-for-all without dying. I usually took 2nd and 1st place using M9 pistol in any match type.

Only UT uses aiming cursors anymore, thats what gave it away. lulz.

I'm 1/4 there.

I'm pretty bad at most RPGs. Only fairly above average at StarCraft melee, and standard RTSs. I'm pretty good at puzzle games.

I'm roughly in the top 100 worldwide for Guitar Hero / Rockband on guitar (I can play every instrument on expert, but am best with guitar.) My friend and I were in the top 20 for co-op teams in Guitar Hero 3, and by myself I was once #2 in the world for an expert guitar/vocals co-op team. (That is, I played guitar and sang at the same time.) I have another friend that, were we to sit down and grind out songs and paths, we would easily be in the top 10 co-op GH teams in the world. Possibly top 3.

I'm also very good at DDR.

Of people I know, Doodan is (or at least was), the best Banjo Kazooie player in the world. One of my friends (the girl I went to prom with, seen in my photos wearing candy-cane glasses) little sisters is ranked ~#25 on XBL on slayer for Halo 3. Have any of you ever been beaten 25 - 1 at Halo by a 15 year old girl? Because I have. And she was drunk.

Meh, I'm just ranked near 150 (of 55527 players) in my TF2 clan's servers because I haven't been playing much lately. By the end of the summer I was up to about 21, but then I had to stop playing so much due to school and people caught up.

Video games..I usually master every video game I play in the first hour of playing it (Except RTS games.)
My friends will start complaining because I kick their ass too much.
I'll say now I'm not a huge fan of Naruto, but I do like the games and how the fighting works.

Worldwide I don't think I have anything to say, but in the groups I play with both IRL and online I am always one of if not the best player we have, and if I'm not, I won't stop playing until I am.

DM, DL, Yugi, and I were playing Battleships Pro on Azeroth for a few months straight. We were nearly undefeated and our playing/advertising of it made the map a lot more popular than it was. I'm proud of that, and I was our main carry/ship killer. Our play style and custom in-game standards helped shape the map and community based around it into what it is today.

Also on WC3 I played DOTA with a group of people from Illinois. I was our second best player overall and our best support and caster player. We played in the Gamebattles league and placed at an average position, mostly due to having friends on the team who just couldn't cut it. To be fair though, the GBs crowd was pretty hardcore in comparison to the pubs they were used to playing.

On Heroes Of Newerth, I'm pretty accomplished. One of our top 3 in terms of SEN players, and I brought a lot of people to the game. Despite my personal conflicts with the community, it's a great game, and I'm pretty damn good at it all things considered.

It seems like with every game, SC included, I rise to the higher end of the group I play with (Dominated Mod Nights). I'm thinking if I started playing with semi-pro/hardcore players of any of the games I'd play, I'd continually get better. I'm just not that dedicated to any one game at any given time though. I suppose when SC2 is released I'll see what sort of competitive custom maps get going, and probably pick one of them to focus on for awhile.
