I remember them saying something about 256x256 still being map max, right? Now that you can "under ground" is their going to be a limit on Z axis? 256x256x256? :0

Looks great. I wonder if all the unit models have third person shooter models. This would be great for RPGs.
I saw a video from the link at the top about the map editor.

I like how they say they here'd these custom mappers from b.net, but what they should say is that they're all WC3 mappers. Put put into some relation, I don't recall blizzard hiring any sc map maker help before the release of WC3.
That's the clip I was gonna get the shots from originally. I guess I don't need to anymore.

Wow, just saw the third person shooter gameplay. Looked totally awesome, imagine 10 players playing that all at the same time. Instead of those crappy zombie maps on Starcraft, you could actually make a sweet one.
Lol, they should just make Starcraft Ghost using the SC2 map maker.

SC:Ghost is sort of what the 3rd person demo was. They were even talking about customizing the UI so much that you can have speech bubbles/dialogues (essentially for quests and the like) to accomplish just that. And keep in mind, you can move the unit using keys, there is an item system, and they said they're working on a system that allows you to control aim with a mouse.

Lol, imagine a Minas Tirith or Helms Deep map in third person. EPIC WIN.

Family guy madness here I come....
They said something about being able to save certain data from maps. Sounds like certain maps (Temple siege, Defense of the Xel'naga) could have a league amirite?

The editor looks simply jaw dropping. I hope I'll have a powerful laptop by the time SC2 comes out so I can actually map.
Also, the first person to make DotA in SC2 will become rich if they really implement the map-market, that is.

Just here for the activity... well not really
I hope the editor is as awesome as Blizzard says it is.

They mentioned something about releasing DotA's code and other map codes as examples of what people can do when they start making "mods" with the SC2 editor. I assume that means it wont be that difficult to use that to make a SC2 DotA the day you get the editor.
