Syphon, almost everyone has mighty mice. If you own a Mac, you want one. I even know some PC users that use them...
ClansAreForGays: I think you mean "Macs have virus." There is only one I know of, and that's actually just adware. You can't just use the excuse that Macs have a small market share, though that's part of it. If someone wrote a virus for OS X, they would be famous. Alse, several Mac sites have offered large cash rewards for anyone that could hack a Mac or write a Mac virus. No-one won the money.

If Mac needs Windows, but windows does not need mac, windows wins. You should be arguing windows < Mac NOT windows < Mac+windows

By that logic I suppose you also don't believe in evolution
Contests like these are not contests at all. They are just trying to broadcast propaganda of something being unbeatable. They will not report on or pay anyone who conquers their challenge. Their only aim is to further the false image of an indestructible OS. They would ignore anything sent proof like you ignored the mac virus link I sent you.

Linux Ubuntu, Puppy Linux. Win XP for gaming. Macs are good for art, Win is good for gaming, and Linux is good for everything else.

Actually, Windows is best for art. 64-bit Adobe programs only exist in Windows binary form.

Mac users usually have some form of windows that they can boot into to play popular pc games. Windows users never need to boot mac to run an application that they want.

I actually see that as an advantage, the posibility of having both, windows and os x/leopard/whatever. I've yet to see if anyone can boot os x on a pc. I am honestly not aware if it's possible.

Not only is it possibly, it is very easy.

Plenty of Macs have them. Plenty of Macs do not.

There are many Mac viruses. Most just aren't in the wild. There was a case last year about a hacking competition (Pwn to own) involving a Vista laptop, Mac laptop, and Ubuntu laptop. Guess which one was compromised first? The Mac. Through a flash exploit in Safari 4, I believe.

I actually think the Windows one was the last to fall, but I'm not sure. All I know for certain is that the Mac only took like 10 minutes to be fully taken over.

Good point about Adobe. There are better programs for video editing on macs from what I'm told.

Hackers target windows because windows has a much larger user-base, so there's many more targets. The reason why people think that macs have a "Super-Awesome Anti-Virus Protection" is because nobody tries for it, simply because they can have a bigger target with windows, seeing as there are more users right now who use Windows.

Windows has a much more powerful system, and many more programs are written for windows than they are for macs.
People THINK that Windows sucks at protecting itself, but that's because 99.999% of the windows userbase DL random things off of the internet, and they click anything that says "ZOMG, FREE STUFF, JUST CLICK ME AND AGREE TO THIS EULA!!!"

Heh, Cafg, I like the video. Good job finding it.

I will say this, I am impressed by the Power Plug for the laptop. It's innovative, to put that Magnet in there. I've seen it, you see, My sister has a mac. The only problem with it is that IT ERASED AND CORRUPTED SO MANY FUCKING FILES OF MINE BECAUSE I HAVE THINGS NEAR THE COMPUTER!!! THEY THROW A FUCKING MAGNET NEAR A PLACE THAT HAS CDs VIDEO, TVs, (some of the time), FUCKING IDIOTS!!! You put a freaking magnet in an office space in which ALL data relies on the polarity on small pieces of metal, and WHAT DO YOU FREAKING EXPECT!!?!?!?! I should put a fucking cage around the damn thing, so Nobody loses any more files. Like a barrier, of some sort.
Or, maybe I can just get my sister a PC.

And there's a whole world of internet out there. There's bound to be some program with an Emulator for Mac on a windows PC. Why you'd want it, I have no idea. Ohhhh righhhhht, Final Cut Pro? Lol, Here you go.

Osalt has tons of alternatives for the nice programs. They have an alternative for almost every single mac product.

Movie Maker and other Windows apps can't compare to iLife. Neither can office compare to iWork. Use the two side-by side, and compare reviews. iWork and iLife produce higher-quality results with minimul effort. Also, there is only one (very minor) Mac virus I know of. There may be more, but there are fewer than there should be based on the market share. Also, how can you deny evidence of hacking a Mac? The challenge was to hack and change a server in any way. This was on a very popular Mac forum, so and change would be noticed immediately. No-one managed to do it. Also, that Mac-hacker used a computer running a very early version of Safari 4, with an outdated plugin.

Another thing to think about: With a PC's IP adress, you can reset all passwords and hack in.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YSH8p0Q3UM&feature=related
Also, there are ways to (in any level account, doesn't have to be admin) copy all the information off a computer. If you just insert a flash drive with the app on it (tiny app, you can run it in a few seconds), you can reset all passwords. This uses a buffer overflow to change the values.

Btw, there are magnets in comps anyway. The plug is a very weak magnet, and can't even wipe a (very sensitive to magnet), credit card.

EDIT: No, almost all people have might mice. Even some PC users. In that hacking comp, Syphon, the PC was the second to fall, and the Mac only was compromised because of extraordinary circumstances. Also, the PC was hacked via IP, and they didn't even know the IP beforehand. The Mac hacker's hack only worked if you had the earliest version of Safari 4, an outdated Flash plugin, and clicked a specific link. Also, this bug has since been fixed. And, that isn't even the OS, it's an old third-party plugin they hacked.

Office is miles above iWork. As is OpenOffice.

I know 5 people with Macs, and a library that has some. None of them have mighty mice.

Movie Maker and such aren't meant to compete with iLife; They're free. Also, iLife and iWork are not part of the operating system.

The point was, that that bug has been fixed, but there are still more. Your retarded overpriced computers aren't invincible.

OVER IN THE RED CORNER, WE HAVE MAC, AND OVER IN THE BLUE CORNER WE HAVE PC!!

The winner? LINUX!

But seriously, all OSes have their problems, but Windows is easiest to crack. Mac looks hawt, but costs more and can't play games as well as Windows. And linux just pwns.

Wow. Props to them. They correctly guessed the IP address. That's less than 1 in 4 billion of getting it right.

And that video you used to show how easy it is to hack Windows? That would only work if the firewall, which is enabled by default, was disabled. So yeah, if I went out of my way to make Windows less secure, I'm sure you could find an exploit for it.

Linux sucks. It's great if you've got supported hardware and know your way around a command line. Otherwise, it's a complete piece of crap.

and also, on the new macs like mine, they simply have a multi touch, where to right click, you tap with two fingers...
macs to me are actually easier to use than windows, simply due to the fact that in the mac os, all options and files and such are in the same place, whereas to do some things in windows, you have to search forever if you dont know where the specific option is.

Btw, I use Vista on 3 of my 4 computers. The other has XP because I only needed at least XP on it and I already had that on it (it is the oldest of the 4). That one is being used hooked up to a TV and is operated without a keyboard attached to it; only a mouse and some gamepads are used. It is used to run XBMC (for UPnP media streaming) and sometimes some emulators. I could have used Windows 2000 or some GNU/Linux distro, but the TV out on my graphics card has more features in XP and up.

Macs are easy to crack. Unix is a fail mainframe. People just plain don't, because of the windows user base being much larger.
Not only that, but people skew the information about "Windows being easily hacked" - Yea, sure, if you turn off the Firewall it comes with, and turn off the Norton Antivirus that it comes with, Yes, it's very easy. How about we just turn off Mac's anti virus? At bare-bones, Windows Pwns Mac, easy. The magnet at my house wiped tons of shit. Google this, you'll find numerous stories.

Let me ask you something: If you were to write a virus, would you rather hit 700 Million people(Windows), or 300 thousand people(macs)? Virus writers want the biggest impact. It's that simple.

Click this, and you'll find a revelation for windows!

As for the options, you are incredibly vague. Cite an example. I swear to god if you say "Ctrl + R" for "Run" is unkown, I'm gonna hunt you down and hurt you.

What browser? And if it fails so bad why do so many, hmm, geeks, shall we say, use it? I prefer to do what the pros do than what the masses do. Actually I quite like XP too, but only when I'm behind a Linux router.
