http://www.blizzard.com/us/press/090721.htmlI am a HUUUUUUUGE fan of the Evil Dead series, and I don't think he butchered Spider Man (though I like to forget the third one exists). I think this may be a really cool choice. And frankly I'm really glad Uwe Boll has nothing to do with it (though I realize Blizzard's people are way too smart to make that mistake), or any other unknown director looking to adapt a video game into feature film.

Holy crap indeed. I thought a Diablo film would come first though.
None.

Agreed. I think it would be easier to develop into a movie.
None.
Especially since they didn't use 1001 recycled plots and such from Starcraft.
Besides, Illidan was a good man,

Do you think a Starcraft movie would be any good after the make the first two?
I'd watch it, but I don't see it being fantastic.
None.
If they made a Starcraft movie, I'd see it in a heartbeat.

There already is a Diablo movie. It's truely wank.
None.

Are you sure about this, guy?
None.
Do you mean "Faust: Love of the Damned"?
None.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0258523/I think tho it looks like some guy accidently posted this in a movie site than a game site.... :\
None.
I'd love to see a StarCraft movie, actually.
I know Legendary and Blizzard were talking about a Diablo film years and years ago, but I have a feeling these talks occurred when Diablo II was at it's pique. Chances are they may go back after Diablo III's release and base it on the success of the WarCraft film.
EDIT:
There are a ton of video games on IMDB for people to know who did the voice acting. They all have "(VG)" next to the title so you know it's a video game. This was not an accident.

I literally owned a movie named Diablo set in tristram with the same font.
None.
Do you still have it? As far as I know (and IMDB verifies it), no Diablo feature has been made yet.

The only thing that questions me, why can't Blizzard develop the movies instead?
They are capable of making trailers and in game cinematic, why not Blizzard?
None.
I think that is a very good question. The cinematics tend to be pretty sweet. I was expecting FF: Spirits Within to be at the level.
Maybe it's just too costly.
None.
Wait, I hate to be a slowpoke but is this gonna be live action?
None.
Yeah, as far as I know it will be live action.
Blizzard can certainly develop the movie on it's own, but if you know anything about the film industry, there are other factors involved that require a major studio to help with (i.e. distribution, marketing, etc.). In this case, I'm sure Blizzard is playing a large role in the production of the feature, but Warner Brothers is going to play a major role in post.
EDIT:
And on the topic of WoW cinematics, it takes the cinematic team months and months to put together their 10 minutes of glory. I can only imagine how long a feature-length film would take them.

I would not go see a WoW movie.
None.
Well it's technically not WoW, but yeah I see what you're saying.
