I really don't understand why we need to speak to blizzard
As I've already said, beta keys.

, or why you think they'd recognize some sort of ambassador.
It's a good idea to have the site recognize the the person who is speaking about it and making the request.
Quote
There's really nothing we need to talk to them about or anything they can do for us.
As I've said, beta keys.

As moose said:

Why? "We need to" is not sufficent. The only thing I can think of with no negative side is obtaining beta keys.
You read that before quoting it at me right?

All I'm saying is it would be nice to have someone trying to engage in dialogue with the blizzard PR, than what we've currently been doing - crossing our fingers hoping someone notices us and drops beta keys in our lap.

I'd lol if blizzard textures the marine to have a hurr face somewhere in their armor :P

I lol'd.
From all the reasons my name could have been brought up I didn't expect it to be cause of my memes lolol.

Anyway, there's really no one on our community that could be a strong representative to blizzard. The only person that rings a bell to me is DoA since he has conections already with Karune and other blizzard employees. He quitted sen for obvious reasons, though.
The representative must be someone with powers on SeN, so proposing one that is just another member is pointless and it just lacks formality and actually I'd say it'd have to be someone that can take actions for sen (administration).
But the truth is, if we mattered to blizzard we'd be on the fansite program already. Like Lavarinth said once, it's kinda an invitation only program, so yeah, we would have an invitation already.

fuck you all

Find Me On Discord (Brood War UMS Community & Staredit Network)

It would be good to get some recognition. I mean out of all the users that play/played Starcraft regularly I wonder what percentage of those users even know Staredit exists? I wonder how many Blizzard members know SC exists? I've been a (semi-active) member of SEN for something like five years now haven't really thought about these sorts of things until now.

Apparently Blizzard has some sort of biff with us? Anyone care to explain?

Hey on second thoughts we should get some sort of history page for SEN I think that would be neat.

I can type at 128wpm so if you guys need any help with that sort of thing I guess you could give me a buzz.

Also I am public relations manager for the Frenetic Array we're one of the top multi-gaming clans in Australia and we have multiple sponsors and just recently was classified as a non-profit organisation by our government. So yeh i got some experience with PR work so I'll be happy to help if you need me but as I said before I only really have surface involvement with SEN at this point in time.

Jun 25 2009, 7:30 am InsolubleFluff Post #26

SEN needs more internal work than external.

We need more portal updates to keep viewers reading.

More competitions to keep people mapping.

And minerals back for more motivation.

Considering you guys find them pointless, you seem to care an awful lot about taking them away. At the end of the day people don't spam for them, that'd lose minerals. And the increased activity is much needed.

Not really.

We didn't invent it, but the way it's currently done was pretty much invented within SeN. (FireGraft, DatEdit, etc.) Think of it as analogous invention.

Pretty much every useful mapmaking trick was invented here, too.

What do they have anything to do with Starcraft? It's a forum game, nothing to brag about.

A great community that is fun and involving is just as vital to the last 10 or 11 years success of starcraft as opposed to any other factor.

Those are not something to be bragging about. I don't really see how it is even an accomplishment.

I just scanned the topic, but actually CAFG, this has been on my mind for quite awhile now. Not just one guy though, maybe a small group.
Yoshi has always been great at PR / dealing with affiliates, so when we merged, I was really hoping he would be active enough to start this. I really don't know who else could lead this or even be apart of the team.

This may seem a bit out of the blue, but I wouldn't mind helping in a project like this or even spearheading it. Someone's gotta do it and I've been apart of this community for a while, and I wouldn't mind helping out.

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

Quote from Echo
FaRTy has made a lot of programs. Clokr_ was a member of TSE and he made ProEdit. Legacy(U) and MindArchon(U) were also members of SEN, and they made Uber@tion. I'm sure there is a lot more. GoldenUrg was also a regular on SEN and I believe he made GUEdit.
FaRTy and Clokr_ are good examples. I'd leave Legacy and MindArchon off the list. And I don't thing GoldenUrg had any affiliation with SEN at the time, though I'm not positive.

How about StarForge? Heimdal was a big SEN contributer.

And quick question regarding the bragging rights, is TSE considered to be SEN? Otherwise I'm confused on the whole "9 year" concept.

Fishgold and his work on Microscan engine were very much apart of SEN; his work produced the first prototype of what we now know as location grids. He was the one who introduced me to SEN 5 years ago.

I realize that, but they were for a very long time. Heimdal would still be with us if he didn't get that sweet Bungie gig. :P
