Anyone like the Red Faction series? I've never played the first one, but my friend and I used to love Red Faction 2. The single player had somewhat of a halo feel to it, or at least I thought so. It was pretty fun. We really liked the splitscreen though. We'd play countless hour long matches. So, I decided to buy the new one, Red Faction Guerrilla. So far it's been kinda disappointing. It's nothing like number 2. It's basically the game Mercenaries except it takes place on Mars. Idk, that running around doing missions in a repetative, active environment gets pretty boring to me. And, since I bought it for my xbox, it only has some bs "pass the controller" multiplayer unless I'm linking consoles(which none of my friends have) or using xbox live(which I dont have).

Thigh high affectionado

Fucking yes. I enjoyed the hell outta RF1 when PS2 was well, fresh and new, then RF2 was good times as well.

Cant wait to try the next one, also the first was on mars.

I've played the new RF Guerrilla and omfg it's awesome.

It kinda reminded me of Lost Planet but it throws in destroying walls, buildings, special packs (one lets you heal instantly, one lets you cloak, one lets you be like a rhino, you can get a jetpack or a thruster and so on)

The only thing I hate about the game is the controls I never could get around to changing them because it was me and other people playing on the same console so we had to switch off. Over time I got used to the controls and I would always go MVP :D

I remember playing one of the old RF games on a PS2 with my friends a few years ago. But I've recently played RF:G, and holy crap, that game is awesome. You'd think that the destruction would get old after a while, but it never does. If you're playing that game for any other reason than to blow up buildings, you're playing it wrong. :P I can't wait until it comes out on PC in late August. But I swear, PC had better have an SDK for the extra long wait, otherwise, people will die.

It's kind of annoying that so much stuff is destructive to me :P

I'm always thinking "DUDE! I WANT TO DESTROY THIS SO MUCH!" but I'm supposed to kill lol

I'm just a fish

I bought it early June, and I really like the campaign, it's long and fun, although a bit repetitive. I haven't tried it out on Xbox Live yet...

I didn't really like Red Faction 1 too much. There entire technology which they marketed (Blow up anything!) was a bunch of crap since as soon as you got through the first quarter of the game nothing could be blown up. Hendrix, who I could've sworn was a clone of Jimmi never played guitar once, and it only had two boss stages (well, three if you count that dumb droid thing) The first one being easy as fuck and the second one being easier.

I'm a conservationist whore, I like to stock my weapons (particularly explosives) so I basically killed the only awesome character in the game in two hits. I was pretty pissed, because the game felt incomplete and short, I thought I was only halfway through it. I mean, what type of main villain is a mercenary? Are they fucking seriously telling me that a mercenary is more evil then the executives?

It's also unrealistic because I doubt Earth would give a shit about them being over worked, if that was true then we'd probably stop most companies that pay people in pennies. The main character also happens to have my mothers maiden name (parker) so the game was almost laughing at me, then again...I got to work with Jimmi Hendrix so I guess it was worth it.

Two was all right, except Red Faction two pulled the same bull shit as the first game. "BLOW UP ANYTHING!" Except now it was far worse, now you could only blow up one or two walls in the first and second level.

They also pulled their bullshit twist of having two antagonists (just like in the first one) First it starts you against this awesome dictator, then your dick of a leader. (*Which I wanted to kill anyway*)

As usual though they fucked up, making me kill the only characters I like, or them killing the characters I like. Like Quill, Shriek, and for fuck sakes, those bastards killed Echo! and dammit, I didn't like Tangier too much, so that's another thing.

and then finally, Guerilla came out...which sadly turns out to have an even less likeable character then the last two, but aw well, you can finally destroy everything three games later, and it's always fun to kill hard working men just doing their jobs :)

Of course though if Red Faction wanted to be any less subtle who their villain is based off of they should've just made the game in world war two.

Props to Jason Statham for playing Shrike. THE TRANSPORTER OBVIOUSLY CAN DRIVE GUNSHIPS TOO.

Red Faction had good music, and the plot was solid unlike some games.
