A hundred prisoners are each locked in a room with three pirates, one of whom will walk the plank in the morning. Each prisoner has 10 bottles of wine, one of which has been poisoned; and each pirate has 12 coins, one of which is counterfeit and weighs either more or less than a genuine coin. In the room is a single switch, which the prisoner may either leave as it is, or flip. Before being led into the rooms, the prisoners are all made to wear either a red hat or a blue hat; they can see all the other prisoners' hats, but not their own. Meanwhile, a six-digit prime number of monkeys multiply until their digits reverse, then all have to get across a river using a canoe that can hold at most two monkeys at a time. But half the monkeys always lie and the other half always tell the truth. Given that the Nth prisoner knows that one of the monkeys doesn't know that a pirate doesn't know the product of two numbers between 1 and 100 without knowing that the N+1th prisoner has flipped the switch in his room or not after having determined which bottle of wine was poisoned and what color his hat is, what is the solution to this puzzle?

I give.

What puzzle?

Edit: The joke is not that there is no answer, it's that there is no question to solve.
Edit2: Damn you Pigy.

He imagined the plums.

Jun 22 2009, 1:44 am Syphon Post #66

He had one eye.

None.

Jun 22 2009, 1:47 am FlyingHat Post #67

The riddle says that the man was without eyes, implying that he lost or was born without at least two eyes.

None.

Jun 22 2009, 1:52 am Syphon Post #68

No, it implies that he has less than two.

It doesn't say he lost eyes. It says he is without eyes. If he has an eye, and not the other, he is indeed without eyes.

He is with eye.

None.

Jun 22 2009, 1:55 am FlyingHat Post #69

That's reasonable.

Edit:
Oh wait a second, I see the answer.
A one eyed man saw at least two plums on a tree, he took one plum and left one on the tree.

Edit2: Give me my cookie.

He left the end out of the actual riddle, so the answer to this is just "A one eyed man was looking at a plum tree."

None.

Jun 22 2009, 2:02 am FlyingHat Post #71

Oh, really? I interpreted the part with "He did not take plums, he did not leave plums." as the man taking off and leaving on the tree no more than one plum.

I hate this riddle.

A headless man had a letter to write;

It was read by a man who had lost his sight.

The dumb repeated it word for word;

And deaf was he who listened and heard.

What was the letter?
