My laptop is seems to be getting hotter.
What is the best thermal compound?

Just here for the activity... well not really

My (parent's) laptop has a usb fan that keeps it cool, if thats what you're asking?

I don't like laptop coolers.

I don't understand how you'll use the thermal compound.

The sword and the faith

OCZ Freezer is the best. Beats out Arctic Silver 5 and Arctic MX-2. Grab a tube at newegg.

I can use thermal compound because laptops have heatsinks too? :wtfage:

Well..should i wait for newegg to restock because I dont like waiting?

Thermal compound is used for cooling chips... it won't make your laptop cooler, just remove heat from the individual components slightly more efficiently. If you think it feels warm when it's sitting on your lap, this won't do anything to help you at all.

Quote
Thermal grease is primarily used in the electronics and computer industries to assist a heatsink to draw heat away from a semiconductor component such as an integrated circuit or transistor.

Thermally conductive paste improves the efficiency of a heatsink by filling air gaps that occur when the irregular surface of a heat generating component is pressed against the irregular surface of a heatsink, air being approximately 8000 times less efficient at conducting heat (see Thermal conductivity) than, for example, aluminium, a common heatsink material.[2] Surface imperfections inherently arise from limitations in manufacturing technology and range in size from visible and tactile flaws such as machining marks or casting irregularities to sub-microscopic ones not visible to the naked eye.

I need new thermal compound because the processor is like 60-70C

I think the main problem would be the tight enclosure of the laptop...
How many fans are inside a laptop? ;o
