Psh, you should make it Parasol Labs, not Umbrella. Anyway, I like the potential I see in this. Will you receive missions from various key survivors? Are you just some guy who took up weapons when the virus hit? Details pl0x. The whole idea of stat-building could be kind of lame, though, but I really like it.

As long as it isn't like this:

*Player opens a cabinet.*
Player: My arms feel stronger now!

*Player kicks a soccer ball.*
Player: My legs feel stronger now!

*Player gets plastic surgery.*
Player: My boobs feel bigger now!

Then you've got a problem.

TECHNECLY This was only a brainstorming idea post until I created the true topic, but the admins sort of...hastened my arrival into UMS Production. (I probably shouldnt have posted the terrain, though that was to get people more ideas to tell me)

Ill add story soon, but you're pretty much a civilian, never used or even touched a gun before (You fire 1 shot every 6 seconds in the beginning), and CANNOT use a shotgun or heavier weapon like a desert eagle until you have more gun usage (Killing zombies would be a plus in the beginning).

In CoD4 its called the M1014, but in CS its called the X1014

I should probably mention that the USAS-12 will be in as well.

Who cares if he took the names from a game. Guns are guns, and if you try to make your own name for a gun it'll just turn into a capital letter followed by some numbers.

The regular shotgun would have a 2 second delay between shots, the autoshotgun would use normal starcraft ghost shooting speed.

If you are basing your map of Resident Evil, just look at the guns they have and then copy/paste.

Anyway you shouldn't be wasting time on little things like gun names you should knuckle down on the important stuff. Like triggers/terrain/etc. MAPPING

For ideas well I just made a post in another dudes forum I will briefly reiterate here:

Use 1x1 locatoins with observers on them. you hotkey the observers right click them anywhere and then a trigger detects that the observer is no longer on the location and causes your action to occur.

So lets just say you have the hotkeys
1 - Your CHaracter
2 - Primary/Secondary Weapon Switch
3 - One Hit Kill Super Dooper Mega Zombie Move (60 second cooldown)
ETC. ETC.

So using this system you can easily do shit in the heat of battle.

Say you are peperring away with your M16 or watever on masses of zombies. Then HOLY SHIZ you got a tyrant just smashed down a wall and is running at you full tilt.
So you tap 2 right click anywhere tap 1 again to reselect you character who now has a SHOTGUN which you use to turn the tyrant into a bloody mush. Actually you would have to have 2 hotkeys for your character one for each weapon. Depends how your doing the weapons, you making them different units or just giving them upgrades, I dunno.

So theres my 2 dollars worth.

Update wise, Ive done more terrain, and started placing masses of locations for the VHP system. To think I have to make 200 1x1 pixel sized locations, then trigger it all. I hope its worth it :D

Just use inverted locations if your using detect 0 unit at a 1x1.
