Indeed. Can't forget those. They're my favorite.
I used to play madnesses when I first started SC, then quit. I play Defenses like RBD2, Spawn D, Tank D, etc. Minigames I play rarely and I like arena maps like Wallball, Dodgeball, Basketball, Baseball, and Voleyball.
None.
Bound are more of a pass time to me. I chosed umm aggh. I don't remember lol it's only been 2 minutes. I think it was defence since my last map was a defence or it was Lotrish style even tough I didn't play a signle 1.
Resguy
Bounds also, the ocassional defense is good if it has decent triggers and non noobish players...
None.
u should add bounding to there
None.
Cat and Mouse.
Once you get so pro like me and lady where you are un-stoppable it's just fun to play knowing that you will win, and that people will call you hackers.
Me and lady quite oftenly just back stab the mice AND kill the cats because it makes the game harder.
We want to play a like 16 mice vs us 2 cats on Cat and Mouse Desert like really badly, because when we are cats there is like no mice that can stand against us.
None.
Defense and C&M were almost tied for me, but defenses won.

rofl...I like crystal wars...but they need to find a way to stop the "Block the cats at spawn" thing.
None.
Well, territory/zones maps are one of my personal favorites, but there has yet to be a decent one made.
I would also like Defense/Offence, except again the maps are way to shoddily created.
So I chose defense which seem to be both rather fun to play, and aesthetically pleasurable.

Combine 3 or more of something, than YOU have something worth playing.
None.
Yeah i picked Cat n Mouse cause although i'm good at almost all of the Selections i almost never lose at CNM (not including when i actually do have to go)
Mabrutha,
None.
Whatever I play must be competitive(human opponents), it must have strategy, it must be well balanced, and it should have an average game time of under 30 minutes.
None.
I choosen sniper caus its near RPG's... But i can't wait to see wat you are going to do... if its half good as Rush RPG, i will crap in my pants and take on fire, and then il explode
None.
Just here for the activity... well not really
Pretty much every UMS, a lil bit Melee,
but i hate certains like LoTRs, i dont understand that.

O-IC

"Oh, I see it"
hmm melee and diplomacy, sometimes i play the occasional micro map
None.
I play madness sometimes. I actually love AoS games but noone seems to play it anymore. I voted for Defense since its what i play most of the time.
None.
Diplomacies - with big countries like DoW - not little countries like 7.7.
Supergun style is good - but try to avoid a comp stomp scenario.
Try to make white's defence hard too, and avoid any free cities.
I LOVE having slow transport - Having unugraded ovvies as transports are really good because it makes distance matter. Make sure they have HP though - and fast fighters are good because it actually makes an air force important since you can intercept transports.
Try to keep it diplo rules too.

Of that poll, I like the attack/defend ones the most. What comes before that is arena/minigame style type of games, but like you've already mentioned 1000 times, you've left certain categories out on purpose
Madness maps are alright, the only one I truly liked was evolves, and it shall forever remain my no. 1 fav madness
Defenses... I actually like them quite a bit. It's primarily the original/classic ones from like several years ago that I liked, like Elements of Lurker Defense and stuff.
AoS/Dota style games... well im not that much of a fan of them. Normally I get impatient and let my hero die too fast. If not, the game lasts too long for my personal taste and gets boring. On Warcraft3, it may be different since their heroes actually have levels/spells and stuff
Lotr style.. sorry but I absolutely CANNOT stand these types of games. The only one I was into for some time was Siege of Gondor, but again, I just cannot stand those types of games. Also 99% of the time i play it, games always end when people leave for w/e reason.
Snipers... I use to play it back in the days but was never good at it. Not really my style of game
Cat and mouse... the first few original ones were great, but with all these wacko additions and shit, it just got retarded.
Vanilla melee... If you mean stuff like Offensive strike or those 5v3 comp games where you pick ur race, then yes I enjoy these games ALOT. When I play with my real life friends, these types of games are the ones we almost always play

Let me show you how to hump without making love.
You forgot Dyne maps =/
Closest to it is Attack/Defend I guess.

maps like snowball wars are quite fun...someone needs to make a new special forces..without copying the whole dam map and naming it something else...O_o...
[quote=Akar]None of them, people need to come up with something new.

I was working on a new special forces map, on ashworld terrain, the map is 256x64 it's different but still sticking to the original idea.
None.
RPG, DnD, Trigger Happy Defence, and any map that's pure awesome and/or takes mad skill/strategy.
I'll have to admit though, the genres that are simply much better done on WC3, I would personally rather be on WC3 playing WC3 maps. Such as attack and defend, rpg, DotA (Duh), etc...
Warcraft has the potential for great maps, but Starcraft has the mappers.
