[Insert Map Name Here] RPG
I haven't thought of a name for this map yet, but I've got a lot of the basic ideas down.
This isn't everything about my map, just a little preview.
Map Properties- Size:
256x256- Players:
1-6- Current Map Completion:
~1%The MapThis map is an adventurous RPG where the players can pick a race, level up, upgrade weapons + armor, cast spells, and more! There are 6 different races, and there may be more than 1 player per race. Each race has something unique about it. Whether the difference between each race is just brute force, easier spell casting, or blood collecting, each race is very different from the other.

Races
Blood Priest:
Unit - Infested Kerrigan
HP - 780
Armor - 2
Attack - Claws (12+2)
Description - The Blood Priest is a fiendish unit that absorbs the blood of dead, organic enemies. This blood
makes the Blood Priest stronger and quickens level ups. The Blood Priest is able to use dark magic that corrupts
its enemies. Overall, this unit is a dangerous character because of its ability to gain strength quickly and to make
its enemies vulnerable.
Spells:
-Cloak (200 Energy): Makes the Blood Priest invisible for a short period of time.
-Feeding (Passive): The Blood Priest stands above dead carcasses and absorbs the blood, giving it more experience.
-Ensnare (2 Death Gems + 1 Earth Gem): Summons a unit that slows down enemies, making them vulnerable to attacks.
-Firebolt (1 Fire Gem): Sends a ball of fire towards an enemy, doing some damage.
-Dark Cloud (2 Chaos Gems): Summons a unit that creates a cloud. This cloud protects the Blood Priest.
-Paralyze (1 Chaos Gem + 1 Mind Gem): Summons a unit that paralyzes a unit, making it inable to move or attack.
-Poison (4 Death Gems): Summons a unit that poisons enemies. The enemies lose hp over time.
Human:
Unit - Jim Raynor (Marine)
HP - 695
Armor - 1
Attack - Shortbow (9+2)
Description - The Human is an all-around good character. Its moderately good HP and ranged attack make it a
good unit for inexperienced players. The Human is able to cast spells that raise its defense and call for back-up.
Upgrading armor and weapons for the Human is very easy and quick. Therefore, this unit can become quite a
powerful adversary once it gains enough experience.
Spells:
-Power Boost (-10 HP): Makes the Human move and attack faster. The Human loses HP every time this is casted.
-Back-Up (3 Earth Gems): Summons a group of Archers to aid the Human. The Archers die after 5 seconds.
-Light Sheild (2 Light Gems): Replenishes the Human's HP every couple of seconds for a short period of time.
-Friendly Summon (2 Mind Gems + 1 Water Gem): Summons a strong Archer. The Archer stays with the Human
until it is killed by an enemy.
-Godly Strength (2 Chaos Gems + 1 Wind Gem + 1 Earth Gem): Makes the Human invincible for 10 seconds.
-Promotion (5 Mind Gems): If the Human is in a city, it will gain control of 10 city guards and will be able to order
them around. The Human will basically act as a Commander for the city.
Undead:
Unit - Torassque
HP - 830
Armor - 4
Attack - Tusks (11+3)
Description - Bred in Hell, this abomination serves only one purpose in life: to slaughter all its enemies with ease.
The Undead is a vicious monster that uses brute force to kill everything. Its high HP, armor, and attack makes it
extremely hard to kill. Although the Undead is an extremely powerful unit, its spells are not so good. The Undead
only has the ability to summon weak units. With smart upgrades, the Undead can become a godly unit, but if the
player is not careful, it will die quickly.
Spells:
-Scouting (2 Mind Gems): Summons a Scout to uncover unexplored terrain.
-Zombie Summon (1 Death Gem + 1 Fire Gem): Summons 3 weak Zombies to help the Undead. The Zombies die
after 5 seconds.
-Archer Summon (2 Death Gems + 1 Earth Gem): Summons 2 Undead Archers. The Archers die after 10 seconds.
-Abomination (3 Fire Gems + 2 Earth Gems): Summons an Undead Elephant. The Elephant stays with the Undead
until it is killed.
-Fire Storm (5 Fire Gems + 2 Earth Gems): Summons 3 Fire Birds. These birds die after 7 seconds.
Assassin:
Unit - Zeratul
HP - 700 (100 Sheilds)
Armor - 2
Attack - Sword (7+2)
Description - The Assassin is a perfect stealth unit. Its ability to escape enemies, cloak itself, and steal from
pedestrians makes it an extremely fun unit. The Assassin's attack is not so good, but it's sheilds can protect it
long enough to get the job done. This unit has the unique ability to steal gold from townsfolk, allowing it to gain
money and exp quicker than the other units.
Spells:
-Cunning Escape (1 Mind Gem + 1 Earth Gem): Teleports the Assassin to the nearest town.
-Pick-Pocket (3 Mystery Gems + 1 Chaos Gem): Steals 10 gold from nearby townsfolk. Can only be used once
every two minutes.
-Cloak (2 Mind Gems + 2 Mystery Gems): Cloaks the Assassin for 10 seconds.
-Sneak Attack (1 Chaos Gem + 1 Wind Gem + 2 Earth Gems): The Assassin teleports behind 3 enemies, killing
them instantly.
-Mindless Killing (5 Mind Gems + 3 Mystery Gems + 1 Fire Gem): Kills all enemies around the Assassin. Can be
used once every 3 minutes.
Elf:
Unit - Sarah Kerrigan
HP - 905
Armor - 1
Attack - Longbow (8+2)
Description - The Elf is the perfect example of a good-hearted being. It is kind to all that deserve kindness, and it
does not corrupt in any way. The Elf has the most HP out of all the characters, and it's long-ranged attack makes it
a good unit for grinding. The Elf does not have strong attacking spells, but it does have to ability to heal and
strengthen itself.
Spells:
-Heal (2 Light Gems): Summons a Medic that heals the Elf.
-Holy Spirit (1 Light Gem + 2 Wind Gems): Summons a unit that can create a defensive sheild around the Elf.
-Cleansing (3 Light Gems + 1 Mind Gem): Removes all disabilities from Elf and replenishes its HP.
-Tidal Wave (4 Water Gems): Summons a weak Water Companion. The Water Companion stays with the Elf until
it is killed.
-Sacrafice (5 Light Gems + 2 Earth Gems): If another player's character is running low on HP, the Elf will
die in order to make the other player invincible for 10 seconds. This sacrafice will give the player experience
instead of taking it away.
Mage:
Unit - Tassadar
HP - 850 (75 Sheilds)
Armor - 3
Attack - Cane (10+1)
Description - The Mage is a master in the art of wizardry and light magic. It uses its magic to trap its enemies and
to call for aid. The Mage's attack is not very good because this unit is meant to cast many spells. Because of this,
the Mage's spells do not require many Gems. This unit is slow, but its spells can be very dangerous if used at the
right times.
Spells:
-Storm (75 Energy): Creates bolts of lightning, doing massive damage to low-level units.
-Hallucination (100 Energy): Creates 2 duplicates of an enemy. These duplicates distract the enemy.
-Light Attack (2 Light Gems): Creates 6 Wizards around the Mage. These Wizards die after 3 seconds.
-Trap (2 Mystery Gems + 1 Mind Gem): Paralyzes all enemies around Mage, making them inable to move or attack.
-Hail (2 Wind Gems + 2 Water Gems): Creates a hail storm that lasts a couple of seconds.
-Meteor Shower (3 Fire Gems): Creates a meteor shower that lasts a couple of seconds.
-Eagle Summon (2 Mind Gems + 3 Wind Gems): Summons 2 Eagles to aid the Mage. They die after 15 seconds.
Once the players choose a race, they will be placed in a certain location, depending on what race they chose. From here, the players may start to gain experience, complete quests, and much more.
Leveling Up/ExperienceLeveling up is not super fast like some RPGs, but it is also not super slow. The different in experience between each level will start out small and increasingly get larger and larger. Once the player levels up, their HP will increase and they may be able to use new spells and upgrade weapons/armor. There will be 20 levels altogether. Some places will require people to be a certain or higher before entering, such as places with high-level enemies.
If the player dies, they will lose a certain amount of experience as a penalty. Also, the player will lose some gold (minerals.) Certain items can be bought so that experience and gold are not lost if the player dies.
Casting SpellsThis map, unlike the traditional gas = mana spells, uses items called
Gems to cast spells. There are 10 different types of Gems, each used to cast numerous spells. Enemies will only drop a couple of Gems, but the other Gems must be bought or rewarded to the player from completing a quest.
Collapse Box
Gems:
- Earth
- Wind
- Water
- Fire
- Mind
- Chaos
- Unknown (Acts as any Gem)
- Death
- Mystery
- Light
Players will need to have the Gems in their inventories in order to cast spells. When the Gems are in the inventories, the players can build a unit from a Starport to cast the spell. Each race has a total of 5 spells that they can use. Some races have other "spells" that are used with energy.
GameplayThis map is filled with many different units for the player to kill. Leveling up is the easiest thing to do when the player first starts playing. After/while leveling, the player can upgrade weapons + armor and do quests. There are numerous quests in this RPG, and each comes with a reward. Players can also buy and sell items to shops, as well as trade with other players.
InventoryThe players' inventories will be in a corner of the map. This inventory will contain items that do not have a direct effect if they are used. Other items, such as potions, will be stored in a Dropship. The player can unload the item from the Dropship to use it. If the players' inventories get filled, they will not be able to pick up new items until space is created.
In order to remove items from the inventory, the player can cast a Disruption Web over the item, which will destroy it. To get rid of items in the Dropship, the player can move a unit to the "Drop Item" beacon. After that, simply unloading the item will destroy it.
EnemiesEnemies are everywhere. Some will wait for you to attack, while others will attack you. High level enemies will typically attack the player, whereas low level enemies will wait to be attacked. The higher the level of the enemy, the better item and experience it will give.
