I am making a map where you play screen-by-screen. Each individual map is 20x10 and as you hit the side, it takes you to the next map or 'screen'.
EDIT: (The map is an RPG)
If you hit the right side, it will take you to the next 20x10 square, if you hit the left, it will take you to the next 20x10 square to the left, and et cetera.
I have my own set opinion already of which one I want to use, but please select from one of the following styles which will be the best choice for my map type:
Regular style, walking around and you kill a unit.
or
Final fantasy style, walk up to a unit and it takes you to a seperate battle field.
Please participate, and if you have reasons for choosing the option you did, please explain.
(The map is also attached to this post in case anybody doesn't understand how my map is going to work. View in map editor and you should get it, triggers are not yet set.)

Just here for the activity... well not really
Depends what kind of map it is.
For yours, I'd say FF style.

What do you mean by what type of map?
It's an RPG, if that's what you mean.

I mean, the amount of enemies, the strength of them (do they die in 1 hit or do we get an intense battle?) and if you have custom spells

I do have custom spells and the strength of monsters will vary but shouldn't be 1-2 hits.
None.
Normal Starcraft, I honestly don't care how epicly tough the monsters and such are, games that transport you to an arena always take the fun out.
None.
do it chrono trigger style.. not the old map but the game you engage a battle and you just wipe out your weapon and duke it out!
None.
Teleporting you to another area isn't totally FF style, if you wanted to make it really FF, you'd make it turn based.

I have no idea what Action Timer Based means.
Nor do I know why you Capitalized Every Letter Of The Phrase Action Timer Based.
None.
Chrono trigger had the best battle system in any RPG i've ever played, so if you want to use a system other than SC's default- go for that one =)

Blah, yeah I'm starting to maybe lean towards Chrono Trigger style. But I'm just not sure how I would implement it!

I would assume that he means...
Final Fantasy. Only theirs is called "Active Time Battle".
I voted "Regular starcraft style". Properly done spells with free mobility ultimately have a much higher fun potential than slow, "wait for your timer!"-systems, in my opinion.

I voted for SC style, the only game i saw with moving screen like this is the first Legend of Zelda, and i do not imagine myself playing it by having to leave the map and go to another palce to kill each enemies.
Real time-SC based combats WOOT FTW!

My thoughts exactly! Thank you to all those that voted, my mind is made up. In a landslide victory, I will do regular SC style.
I might also think about doing chrono trigger style, but that will be seen once I see how the map plays.
Thanks again to those who voted, topic has served it's purpose.
