Predator of Bed Chambers

I was looking at:
Quote
eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTX PCI-E x16 768MB 384-bit DDR3, 575/1800MHz, Dual Dual Link DVI, HDTV/HDCP, Fan, 128 pixel pipelines, 400MHz RAMDAC, 2048 x 1536 Max Analog resolution, 2560 x 1600 Max Digital resolution, SLI Ready, DirectX 10 and OpenGL 2.0 compliant
But pricing was $1,000 Australian Dollars. That one is $319 in store. But that isn't my pricing. I get for 218 Before GST + 10% which = GST = 239 dollars. So I am kinda saving.

180$.

Edit:
Found something better:

I cant handle these conversions, so ill do my best guessing lol O_o

Anyway from what your telling me on the $ conversion and what newegg is giving me on pricing, your getting a pretty good deal. My only concern is that that card is 16 pipes, which, if i may say, is low, especially on a 7800GS.

If you want to spend a bit more (And thats if im guessing this conversion correctly) i think a nice one of these would do you well and be better than that one:
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150229">http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150229</a>

Yeah, AGP is the suck.
From those id go with the eVGA e-GeForce 8600GT PCI-E x16 Superclocked 256MB or the Gigabyte GeForce 8600GT PCI-E x16 512MB. The first gives the speeds, the second doesnt. If the Giga is faster, go with that, its got more MB on it, infact, it should be faster and its a pretty good price.

Oh and if ANYONE knows hardware, its Deathawk. If he comes in here his opinion > mine.

Well I think my motherboard does support PCI-E can't really tell reading my manual. Even so my job is a computer Technian I kinda not really into products side just building pcs / fixing em.

I'll talk to my friend about which to get for my motherboard or may just need to update all togetter.

Because ASUS K8N-E Deluxe is kinda old now days =/

Since my old graphics card burnt up, finally. First was overheating now went up in smoke it took my motherboard. So had to switch by to my old which is " ASUS K8N-E Deluxe " -_- till buy new shit. I just want something that will support SC2 =/

If i may, i reccomend a nVidia nForce 680i.
It may be a bit pricey, but its the godliest thing in the case of mobos.

Your motherboard supports AGP. It's socket 754, you use DDR memory.

If you were going to upgrade to a new motherboard, you could upgrade to a 754 motherboard with PCIe.. Any other upgrade would require new stuff such as CPU, RAM, etc..

Anyway, for a replacement AGP card, the fastest would be the x1950xt AGP, but I'm not sure if you'll be able to find it in Australlia.. maybe, though. I honestly don't know what sites you can use to order parts online. That may be a bit expensive for you, so my next suggestion would be the x1650xt. However, if you had an x1800xt, your computers performance will most likely be taking a step down if you buy the x1650xt in relevance. But it beats any TNT, at least. ^^ Personally, I would try and save up and build a whole new computer. It beats buying old hardware for a dying interface.

Just two side notes, I don't think there is a video card called the x1800xt pro, I know there is x1800xt, but never heard of xt pro. Might be one of the producers versions.
Also, the 680i chipset is for Socket LGA775, and even then, the 680i chipset is overpriced (and there is really no reason in buying it unless you want 16x SLI, which even then doesn't have much performance benifits over 8x SLI yet.

That would be an excellent purchase. It's a step down from the x1950xt, but definately a very good performer. It's probably about the second fastest running AGP card.

I say go for it.
