I really am not mocking you. In failing so hard, the storyline turned out to be hilarious and the only redeeming part of the map. If the story had made sense it would have been boring. Instead it is a whimsical (if unintentional) satire of how ridiculous the plots of zombie stories are.

"In failing so hard" You ARE mocking him. You're saying it was so stupid is was funny. That is a mocking of his map.

I'm not a fan of zombie maps in general, but of this one I found it if not the most stimulating map, at least well made. There are a few times throughout the map where it's one of those "okay...." moments, and a few frustrating times when you have no idea where to go, but trying to micro the planes was fun, charles was funny, and the whistling wind was nice. (Though it also got a bit "eh" after the first few times it played).

Quote from Esponeo
PROS:
- The storyline is hilariously bad, to the point of it being satire.

CONS:
- The entire map consists of walking around aimlessly. This is not fun.
- Scavenging for invisible keys is not fun and does not constitute a puzzle.
- There is absolutely no variety to the boring combat.
- The map intros with an incredibly boring, long cut scene that cannot be skipped.
- Story messages clear the chat screen.
- Unit barricades make walking around annoying. Screws with the players' unit AI.
- You have a unit named "building" inside other buildings.
- The zombie horde part after the first boss is bugged such that it is either a cakewalk or an automatic loss.
- You use normal Display Messages instead of Transmissions, such that longer story messages disappear before being read.
- There is no benefit to choosing the Marine over the Ghost.
- Color codes codes are not used at all to spice up any of the unit names.
- The endless whistling wind sound is incredibly annoying, requiring the player to turn off his sound.
- The music you included is poorly looped. Also it is pointless and annoying, serving only to increase the map's file size.
- The map promotes smoking as a way to improve your health.

Yellow - Agree.
Orange - What is the difference between Display Message and Transmission, besides the usage of a portrait and room to place a .wav?
White - Unknown/Disagree

None.

I think transmissions text display lasts longer then a normal DISPLAY TEXT MESSAGE

I personally prefer transmissions at all time however, when i found out some were regular text it didn't concern me enough to go back through and change them. There was never a point in time where you were confused on who was talking, and that being the case makes it completely irrelevant. Transmissions are more for personal preference.

You can set the exact length of time for text to be displayed when using Transmissions.

I am not mocking him, I am (unfortunately) insulting his intelligence. I genuinely find the story enjoyable, even if it is for reasons different than intended.

It's funny because what you don't realize is it was ETEFT that wrote the parts you mock, you automatically assume i'm the reason for any flaw within the map. If you enjoyed it, what the hell does it matter anyway? There's no reason for you to continue to post, you're only making yourself look ignorant now.

I think the word you're looking for is stupid. As in, making continued attempts to convey even the most basic concepts in this topic is a stupid idea.

With a transmission, you can set the time that that text displays for.
It's basically:
Display speaking portait
Play Wav
Display text for X milliseconds

wrapped up into one trigger.

insulting, mocking, amounts to the same thing.

The bad part of having under three voters for every poll is that you and eteft could be 2/3 :P

lol, I've finally voted "Other". To my mind it is pretty nice map, and I would have been voted as "Pretty decent map, but not the best in the contest" if there wasn't the contest part. I dont know other winter mapping contest maps to judge if it can be the winner.

Some.

There are so many better ways to make a map good than with colored names.

Kind of like the big list of things from which you pulled this one item, right?

I honestly don't know how to explain your behavior. Neither stupidity nor insanity sufficiently explain what went on inside your head to make you pull one item out of a list and act as if it was the only thing I had said.

Looks very well-made, I'll try it out as soon as I can.
This guy didn't play it.

It's a fairly good map (although wandering around for long stretches and fighting the same two enemies gets tedious), but it suffers the same fate a lot of multiplayer RPGs do: impossible singleplayer.
Played it. Calls it "fairly good" despite hating everything about it.

Looks good, though some of the stuff doesnt make the most sense.

I haven't really played enough of it to rate it on your poll yet, but I really did enjoy what I got through. It was different from most of the other maps out there... a *good* kind of different.
This quote is absolutely priceless.

Sorry for not wanting to quote 13 other comments.

I'm stuck after the Sergeant disappears. I have no clue what to do. I've killed Mutated Charles and looked everywhere.

I spent like 30 mins playing it with 3 others (2 left after 1st boss) and we somehow got to the queen boss. However, it was really weird and i was annoyed that i kept on playing cuz it was just there are 10 doors left, i have a key, let's walk around the whole city finding which door works. We found the captain in the boiler room but for some reason he was a queen and there was no dialogue. The guys near that boiler room didn't say anything either. When we killed him nothing happened. We looked around the whole map and couldn't find anything. I opened the map in the editor and i found out that the south barricade could never be unlocked. That;s probably the problem.

This map is fun at the beginning, but no offense, GETS WAY BORRRINNNGG. Have a map function put in there so you find a map of the city and it tells u where everything is. That's A LOT easier. But even if you do that, it won't be that better.
