Specifics
Type of map: Dueling/Arena
Tileset: Jungle
Map size: 64x64
Players: 2 (both required)
Playing field: 20x12

Gameplay
The gameplay is quite simple. Destroy the other player by any means necessary. Build units at the Starport to switch spells, and cast those spells by swarming a region (more information on spells below).

Features
1) A 2-pixel grid
2) Dark Swarm detection system (yeah, I cheated, but it works)

Elements/Spells (note: for the beta version, only Ignis and Fulmen are available)
Ignis (Fire)
Nox (Darkness)
Glacies (Ice)
Terra (Earth)
Aqua (Water)
Lux (Light)
Fulmen (Lightning)
Ventus (Wind)

Screenshots

Closing remarks
Yes, this is only a beta version. I am posting this because I will not be working on it for awhile, and I don't want my work to go to waste. Because it is only a beta, there are still bugs. If you have any questions or comments, post in this thread, PM me, or contact me online (Lethal_Illusion@USEast) and I will try to respond as soon as I can.

It's the fabled Elementa map everyone is talking about...

MOST EPIC MAP EVER.

It seems that almost all concepts that never got much attention and use grew and evolved to be combined into this map. I've seen some very good maps during about 7 years of SC, and all of them limit themselves in something - whether it's a spell that deals damage, or a health pack, or even some sort of animation - and I can understand the people who created them, because SC has tough limitations. This map, however, is the most amazing victory of one man over StarCraft.

This is a must see for everyone interested in SC, no matter what your likes or dislikes are.

I've already talked to Lethal about it. You either need a free player slot for the observer or the tournament host will have to trust the players to tell him the truth about the results of the games, beacuse replays won't work - it has randomization elements.

ADD: lethal, don't forget to upload it to the DLDB.

Srry public. There goes all the brains, exploding. :bleh:

ONE OF THE BEST MAPS EVER. Though he did taunt me with it, "because it was a b-day present" :(

QUICK! Someone nominate it for SEN 09 Awards!

Neat system. If it could handle more players, I'd love it even more, but I understand if that'd be way too much work :P I found Fulmen easier to use than Ignis in terms of their spells, but I'll have to wait and see more elements before I can really talk about balance.

Maps that use random switches die in replays, because the randomizer is redone every time it's watched.

Odd. Unless 1.16.0 fixed it? Let me go test.

Hello

I just played this map... man it's awesome!
also I love how you detect where the enemy's defiler is so you can order the defiler at your arena to there, where the real enemy defiler stands...^^
tons of locations and triggers.... this map will be a legend :)

go on with this

Well it wouldn't be just because of 1.16 because I've been watching reps for a while now. Unless I've never noticed that the cards were different in the replays than in the actual game, but I don't think that's the case.

If he doesn't want to add Observer slots we could do a tourny using recorded replays winner uploads his replay and they move on to next round duh =P

I know for a fact that it hasn't worked before when I made replays with reindeer breeding, they broke. Either way, it works now, whether it was a 1.16.0 fix or if it's always been that way and we're all insane.

Now let's stop this ridiculous quote chain.
