Every new game is extremely stable in Vista. The older the game is, the more trouble I seem to have with it. However, SimCity3000 seems to run just fine in Vista, and that's very old. However, StarCraft seems to be very buggy. The left side of the screen flickers, and I'm really unable to play the game that way.
BTW, my system's main specs:
cpu: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ (2.4 gHz, socket AM2)
ram: 2 GB (2x1GB) DDR2-800 by Corsair - lower latency version, but I haven't tried out that part of it.
motherboard: EPoX MF570SLI (nForce 570 SLI)
power supply: Enermax Noisetaker II 485 Watts, active PFC
graphics: Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO2, with modified bios to unlock the remaining 4 pixel pipelines (to a total of 16) and also modified to say it is an X850 XT Platinum Edition (both mods done by me), overclockable to X850 XT Platinum Edition equivalent speeds
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit edition is installed, have 64-bit available for when I want to try it); also have Windows XP Pro x64 edition installed on another drive, which hasn't been booted up into in quite a long time
Other misc. specs:
optical drive: some LITE-ON DVD+/-RW drive
hard drives: 80 GB Seagate SATA, 160 GB Maxtor PATA, 200 GB Seagate/Maxtor PATA, and a 200 GB Maxtor PATA in an external enclosure with a USB adapter
other PCI cards: ATI TV Wonder 650 and TV Wonder Pro
case: Lian Li PC-60 Plus black
keyboard: Microsoft Digital Media Pro
mouse: Microsoft Optical Mouse Blue
speakers: Logitech X530, 5.1 channel
display: some Sony Trinitron 17" CRT display, rebranded as a Dell display (bought from some place selling used ones)
